I thought he got it spot on. Duane took being sub-team leader to mean he was sub-team dictator, noone was allowed an opinion, if they did they were being "disruptive"

He's been arrogant, irritating and a long way ahead of himself for a couple of weeks now.

The only problem was the fact they clearly didn't take out the cost of the equipment from the other teams sales income to give a true result, £17.50 a month, would have rightfully handed Ricky's team the win, they came up with a concept 2 out of 3 clubs were willing to pay for whilst the others came up with an idea which 2 clubs hated, 1 club wanted to change to a family class, and they somehow won? Seemed very unjust.

I agree. It was impressive and a joy to watch such an accomplished performance. He is clearly very polished and professional at presenting and had complete mastery in handling the whole interaction, including answering questions or points put to him. Up until this week, he hadn't had a good image, as far as I'm concerned but he more than redeemed himself and showed that he does have talent and skill, as well as likeable qualities.

Indeed that was the glaring problem with this week's episode. Duane, not Ricky, going made sense as soon as Lord Sugar identified the video as the issue and concluded that the basic idea was sound. The final sales figures just didn't allow for the costs - which probably change the outcome. You could add that the winners sold something for market A and it was bougfht for market B - which was also pretty accidental. I suspect if they had done the maths properly, the other team would have lost and the reasons why two buyers didn't make any orders would have seen whoever pushed their theme and forgot costs going .

It was all a bit odd. The production team highlighted the point that the winning team was failing on costs and the storage issue - but the storage issue miraculously vanished and the final accounting in the boardroom just counted gross sales and not net profit - its a tale of two shows in one.

Oddly enough, I think firing Duane made sense mostly on the basis of this task, whereas on the basis of past performance he deserved to stay more than Ricky did!

i think SAS got this one wrong, Laura should have gone but he didn't have a lot of choice considering that Ricky didn't brink back either Gabrielle or Jenna who went MIA in this task completely

You're talking rubbish as regards this week's sacking. Duane definitely deserved to go....watch the programme again. Duane totally ignored the decision to make a martial arts/dance video and also ignored the protests of the other members of the film/editing team. One of the team said "this is not what was agreed we need to talk to the PM" and later "we are in danger of just making a dance video". Duane ignored this and therefore faced the consequences of his action.

Duane was entirely responsible for changing the message of the video from what had been specified by Ricky, he removed the key combat theme of the exercise regime, the same theme that was projected in the pitches and literature, and what is more Duane firmly overrode his sub-team members when he was warned of his error.

He was stupid, incompetent, bloody minded, and sabotaged the team's key strategy, he had to go, but then this was apparent to anybody with a perceptive skills that the guy was just a delusional, skill-less, drivel-spouting machine with a big smile.

I think Duane should've been fired up until Ricky admitted he brought in the wrong people and then saying he had learned something from that. His eyebrow twitching makes me laugh because you can tell it's because of nerves.

I work in the professional world of finance and my interview experience includes the recruitment of Business/Management consultants for natiional and international companies; though I doubt if you and I have ever met. From your uninformed comments it's unlikely that you'd make the long list of candidates for any position where I was a member of the interview panel, much less any short list.
