My heart sank to my boots when I saw she was on but she was a pleasant surprise. Yes, she didn't have anything earth shattering to say but to say she was out of her depth is unfair and untrue. The first five minutes were uncomfortable with all the pouting and posing but as she relaxed she showed a more pleasant, professional side to her than I had thought possible.

She was certainly nowhere near as cringeworthy or as downright lacking in humour or humanity as "comedian" Jenny Eclair has been the last few times she has been on, and I speak as a former fan of Ms Eclair, back when she was funny.

To all of you who found Katie Price's appearance on the show offputting ...please complain to the BBC as they do listen and we dont want her popping up again talking her cliched drivel

In what way was Katie Price remotely humorous? She was sullen and tentative because at some level she realised she didn't deserve spot on the panel and she had nothing to say of consequence.

She stumbled over her simple sentences and any opinions she offered were child-like in their insight.

She was utterly cringe worthy because she was an embarrassment to the panel. At least Jenny Eclair could articulate semi-valid points and even provide a smattering of insight.

Worse than Katie Price is the spectacle of smartarse comedian Dara O Brian trying to be funny by mocking Ricky for his size and only succeeding in making himself look like a complete arse.

This woman - like so many untalentless arseholes who somehow find fame - is a stain on the nation. Responsible in part for its dumbing down and credited with a ficticious business acumen when she is only rich cos of the people she employs to run her career.

Ignoring the KP element for a moment, last night's episode was a real dud!
As much as I like Dara, and I think he does a good job as the anchor on YBF, you do need some wit and some humour on that panel, and that was badly lacking last night.!

What you seem to class as "incorrect grammar" are often features of a person's dialect (which are perfectly valid forms of language), not just due to 'lack of intelligence' like you seem to suggest. BBC English or Queen's english aren't the ONLY valid ways of speaking.

If you couldn't spot that Katie Price has the linguistic skill of a six year old, that suggests your linguistic skill is of a similar level.

Getting basic verb conjugation wrong, as she did repeatedly, is simply wrong, and she doesn't even have the excuse of coming from up North.

But it doesn't matter, she is an entreprenuer!!!

Well it matters to viewers who have to put up with her idiocy and chaviness.

Just because she has wads of dosh doesn't make her an entrepreneur, the Apprentice is supposedly about business acumen, not just jumping on to the readily-available conveyor belt to prosperity for women who want to take their kit off. Now, if she had created part of a money-making celebrity industry for other people then perhaps she would qualify, but haven't her attempts in this area failed?

It is a shame that KP is not more articulate as I do think if she could express herself better her opinions would be worthwhile. She has a natural business instinct, she just can't explain it very well probably due to a poor education.
However she has found her market to which her style and products appeal. I know it irks many that she is one of the most successful authors in the UK without ever having put pen to paper, not one word. I find that highly amusing and I find her ability to succeed rather interesting.

I think it's probably a class issue also, and you should really stop judging other people. While some people may not use correct grammar 100% of the time, they probably have more interesting things to say than you.

To be fair there are not many glamour models who have gone on to have KP's success or who have made quite as much money without marrying a footballer, she is pretty much unique in her entrepreneurial talent within that industry. She has also recently started an agency to create just that celebrity money making industry of which you speak, and of course, KP style, she had a TV series all about it.

She is only successful because the morons who live in this country obsess over such cretins.

But is that her fault or has she taken advantage of an opening in the market.

But what about Sr Alan of Sugar himself? His command of the basic rules of spoken English/verb conjugation is equally as bad (my pet hate being when he insists on saying "you was" instead of "you were" - which is exactly the same as I heard KP say on YF, but nothing worse than that) but I don't hear you accusing him of having the ability of a six year old as well!

Can I just ask what qualifies you to make that value judgement about Katie Price's literacy levels? Are you a teacher? I am, both primary and adult literacy so I know a bit about what the average 6 year old should be able to do, and I know a bit about what adults can and can't do. But for what it's worth, in reality you can't possibly make a direct comparison between a child's literacy level and an adult's. It's not measured like that at all. Adults commonly have what is known in the adult education world as 'spiky profiles', in other words good at some things, excellent at others, but poor or very poor in some areas too. (And that applies to all adults - even you and me!). But having some gaps in verbalising English correctly (however much those gaps might grate on your ears when you hear them) doesn't mean that adult is functioning at a consistently a low level or at a level commensurate with a child's age. It's impossible to make that judgement in the simple terms you are stating.

I'm no fan of KP at all - can't stand her, in fact - I am simply viewing her as an adult with a spiky literacy profile, as I do Sir Alan, and anyone else I come into contact with on a professional basis. But I am interested to know how/why you think you are qualified to make the judgements you make about KP's literacy ability. And one of the previous posters is correct in saying that you can't state what is only your opinion as if it is a fact!

Inspite of the way both sir alan and kp speak, each of them have made millions.

Generalising and stating opinions as facts on the other hand are signs of great intellectual skills

I've just watched the 'main' episode. Thanks to a few posts here on the first page I will save myself the time watching the spin-off, it sounds dreadful, and even with the best of guests have been considering not bothering about it at all for a while (due to the format and the poor presenting).


Gaddafi, Hussain, Fred the Shred, Gerald Ratner, Prescott, Murdoch (to name but a few) all did 'well' for themselves didn't they? I'm not in any way comparing what Price has done to any of their actions, but am saying that just achieving doesn't mean much imo...it's what you do and how you do it.

So, get a grip yourself.


I'd say she's been very, very lucky to have one or two movers and shakers who DID know what they were doing spot her 'potential' and attach themselves to her quite early on, for mutual, and extremely lucrative, profit. If you think she herself appointed these people who have made her so many millions then you should look at the bigger picture, again imo.
