Can I just ask what qualifies you to make that value judgement about Katie Price's literacy levels? Are you a teacher? I am, both primary and adult literacy so I know a bit about what the average 6 year old should be able to do, and I know a bit about what adults can and can't do. But for what it's worth, in reality you can't possibly make a direct comparison between a child's literacy level and an adult's. It's not measured like that at all. Adults commonly have what is known in the adult education world as 'spiky profiles', in other words good at some things, excellent at others, but poor or very poor in some areas too. (And that applies to all adults - even you and me!). But having some gaps in verbalising English correctly (however much those gaps might grate on your ears when you hear them) doesn't mean that adult is functioning at a consistently a low level or at a level commensurate with a child's age. It's impossible to make that judgement in the simple terms you are stating.
I'm no fan of KP at all - can't stand her, in fact - I am simply viewing her as an adult with a spiky literacy profile, as I do Sir Alan, and anyone else I come into contact with on a professional basis. But I am interested to know how/why you think you are qualified to make the judgements you make about KP's literacy ability. And one of the previous posters is correct in saying that you can't state what is only your opinion as if it is a fact!”

I have repeatedly chastised SAS on this forum for having appalling linguistic skills of.. let me see.. a 10 year old, and, like you, I find his use of the invalid constructions such as "you was" absolutely appalling. I don't think even at six I would have made that error, and yet he has worked around intelligent people who must have provided examples of correct grammar usage for most of his life and yet STILL makes gross errors, so he must be linguistically retarded to some degree.
What qualifies me to make a passing judgement is the evidence before me, my own personal experience and what I observe in children around me.
If you think I was seriously suggesting that KP had exactly the literacy skills of a six year old then you really need a humour upgrade, I mean she could possibly qualify as a seven year old on a good day if the subject of discussion was female underwear and make up, if only because her vocabulary might just compensate for her lack of grammar skills.
