Ps3 broken :(

Hi, I have just gone to turn on my ps3 and nothing happens , there are no red led lights, if I pull out power cord and put it back in the light will come on, if I then press on button it will start for about 1 second and then just die with light going out again, it is a 320gb slimline model, had it less than 2 years, in that 2 years it has probably been used for less than 10 hours to actually play games on, I only really use it at the moment to watch Netflix, it was working fine last night, does anybody know what could be causing this? TIA

My friend recently got the yellow light on his 4 year old ps3. He took the receipt back to Currys and quoted the Sales of Goods act 1979 and they gave him his money back after a week or so and he bought a new one! Things have to last for a reasonable time, two years isn't.

Would not mind so much if it had been used to play intensive games on for 12 hours a day for 21 months but it has not, like I say it has been used for games less than 10 hours in that time, I only started using it again in last couple of months to watch Netflix, even that at most is an hour a night, very poor by Sony if it is broken

lack of use can be a bad thing..or it could have just been a dud. try to take it back, dont bother repairing it

From what you describe it's probably something internal, but on the off chance have you tried an alternate power cable?
