Moogester also a good point.

Its nice to have favourites and stick by them but at least if people could be honest and admit they had a bad night instead of fighting their corner when things really did go horribly wrong.

I agree with you in your first post, where you said you were out of touch with this board - Sharon's comments to Steve last week were completely over the top, especially the racist ones, I thought Steve kept himself in check very well and looked extremely hurt with what Sharon had said. Would you have preferred it if he had said nothing? Sharon's comments this week (not only to Steve) were more rational, last week her and Louis had made a pact to get Simon's acts out.

I'm supporting Steve in this competition, because I am a soul music fan and I believe he has a very good soul voice. He is also the only act I would buy an album of his work. I am not particularly interested in personalities, this is a talent competition, if I want to support personalities I will watch Big Brother.

But each to their own, if we all liked the same act there would be no programme ”

I disagree that I have contradicted myself. Not liking Steve is not mutually exclusive to saying that he can sing. I still find him to be bland, boring and unlikeable. There are plent of artists out there I don't like but wouldn't say that they can't sing. I am big enough and moral enough to give credit where it is due. Saying he has loyal fans is just a fact and in no way a contradiction to what I feel.

But just because I feel this doesn't mean I should vehemently want him to loose, be unable to admit he can sing or not credit him for having very loyal fans. To be honest I think that is bad karma and I don't really care that much who wins. I do enjoy the show but at the end of the day once it is finished I don't really care what happens.

Sharons comments to Steve were not over the top your liking Steve is colouring your opinion. You may not agree with what she said but she paid him a complaint saying he is like Micheal Bolton he is a very successful singer and Steve will being doing very well if he can copy his success. I think it is a common theory that black people do soul while white people don't. Not that I necessarily agree with that but Sharon was saying was yes you can sing but you are signing the wrong stuff. That is her personnel opinion to which she is entitled and there was nothing nasty about it. Perhaps you could argue it is racist but I think this is pedantitic as it is hardly doing any harm to white people.

Doesn't bother me that I am out of touch with the Board it doesn't mean that my opinion is any less valid that anyone on this boards.

It was horrible, proper car crash television.

No, I genuinely don't think they could have done any better with that song. It's not a song that lends itself to beautiful harmonies, or even beautiful voices. It has a rather monotone 'melody' and is, in my opinion, not a song that would show any voice off to it's best advantage.

They did as well as they could with the tools they had been given. All credit to them.
