Recommend a TV set for around £100?

Hi. My TV set recently broke.

I'm about to move in to my first flat and my budget for a new TV set is around £100.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to a good set for that price?

Thanks.

What size?

At that price you would be better looking for a used one as well.

IMO your budget is too low and your gonna be hard pushed to find something around that price.

Get a good preloved set.

I think ASDA are selling some Luxor Televisions below the £100 mark, but like other posts here, I would seriously consider a second hand Television. You have to think if anything goes wrong outside of the warranty any repairs are going to cost as much as the Television, trust me I know

Also do not bother with an extended warranty, they are not worth the paper they are written on sometimes.

If you are looking for a cheap set then an older CRT and a digibox would probably be a better bet – you can geta good size one on eBay for a few quid or maybe even off Freecycle.

Currys currently sell sets starting from 69.99:

And Argos have always sold sets for around £100.

So there are sets for around that price. I'm just wondering, in that price range, which one is the best.

At that price they are all based on the cheapest components that they can get away with so not really anything in it.

At that price it will be acceptable quality – all very average…you would get a better one used as you can then get a higher spec TV, just one that’s a few years old.
