Louis tonight
bewitched
06-11-2004
If Louis had any sense, he would have picked voices with soul then had simon be the bad guy and get rid of one with the casting vote.

I have just posted the same theory on another thread! I am still amazed he chose to keep Voices With Soul though!

I think that Louis had no choice, if he said VWS then Simon could have played it tactically and voted of VWS knowing that its likely 2 to go would be in the bottom 2 next week.

Also it would shatter the confidence that VWS had in Louis if Simon kicked off 2 to go and VWS were left with a mentor that essentially voted them off.

Unless Louis made it vocally clear on the night that he was doing it so it would be down to Simon - which I would have understanded.

Even though I don't like the horrid little man, I actually respect him for doing what he did tonight. I feel he did what he genuinely thought was the right thing, rather than just taking the easy option and passing the buck to Simon.

Louis voted off 2TG because he knew that Simon would vote 2TG so he was definitely going to be working with VWS next week. So he just wanted to avoid the awkward situation of having to work with VWS with them knowing he voted them off. That IMO is the only reason he voted off 2TG. It had nothing to do with doing the decent and honourable thing so save your respect .

I disagree, I don't think that had anything to do with his decision as if he had voted for VWS purely to force Simon to make the final decision, it would have been obvious to everyone, including VWS, why he did it and it wouldn't have caused a problem between them at all.

Don't agree with you there, all 3 judges were more for VWS.
I did think they might go to Louis last though.

Well, I think Simon would've loved it if Louis had passed the buck to him because then he could make life as difficult for him as possible by keeping in the act Louis voted against.

I don't believe Sharon's vote had much to do with the performances either. She wanted to try and vote the same way as Simon in order to save Louis from having to choose between his own acts (she probably would've assumed they'd go to Simon before Louis), so that's why she voted 2TG.

Didn't Sharon say she loved 2TG in the earlier show? She and Louis are both tactical voters imo.

he did make a meal of it didn't he?

and to be honest, it was his fault 2 to go were in the bottom two.

he chooses awful chichéd songs for two bands and then dreadful 'comedy' songs for the other.

what was all that business with getting peter to play keyboards and sax like a performing seal or something? while emma (is it emma?) danced like the girl from 'tales of the unexpected'

his comment about 'poor peter' was dreadful too. glad sharon picked up on it the way she did as simon said something and was suddenly the bad guy again

I think they should have gone to Louis last too. It may have avoided him making adecision at allas Simon would definitely have picked 2ToGo. I think the producers knew this and so wanted to put Louis on the spot for ratings. I actually think after that heart wrenching decision he made tonite that he actually is a nice sensitive soul. I think sometimes he comes of a bit cack next to Simons charisma but he is genuinely nice. All U Louis bashers give the man a break.

I didn't like Louis before as it was but tonight's show I really thought he was totally shocking. First of all the comment about Peter where he said "this poor guy is blind"...how patronizing?! That was totally out of order and ok it may have been a spur of the moment thing but I imagine how that could have offended Peter, he's good in his own right, regardless of him being blind! And Louis should know better than to make silly comments like that, especially since he works in the media all the time - you just don't say things like that - I thought it was truly awful of him, poor Peter! Then when Simon was trying to give Cassie constructive criticism which to be honest I agreed with, he wasn't being nasty to her but simply saying he thought her nerves had got the better of her and Louis felt the need to turn around and try twisting his words when really Simon didn't say she wasn't good, just that she was nervous ....basically he just disagreed with almost everything that Simon said and imo it was purely to be arkward...it's like the flippin muppets show or something the way he's been carrying on! (no I'm not quite sure what I meant by that comment either lol...sorry, it's late! I suppose Louis has a look of Kermit anyway.. )

Cheered me up some when he had to pick between his acts I know I'm evil, but he really gets my goat!

How very true - although she could actually teach Cassie how to move a bit (or maybe I'm just a sucker for a swishy skirt).

Louis simply didn't want to give Simon the power to choose which act to vote off. End off.
But VWS were marginally better than 2 to go
