Ipod and non-itunes question
I'm going to have to get an mp3 player since talksport have become a 24hours sports only station.
My station of choice wil be LBC, but as I can't pick it up on dab I will be downloading their podcasts instead. On their site they suggest downloading podcasts from itunes. I was thinking of getting an ipod classsic, so I thought that will suit me fine. But then it occurred to me that I might not be able to download other podcasts/material from other sites which cannot be accessed through the itunes store. Would this be the case or can I download anything on the ipod from anywhere without any restrictions from Apple ? |

If you want to be able to download them directly to an iPod, you'll need the iPod touch as it has wifi. The iPod Classic can only sync via a cable. The vast majority of podcasts I've found are in iTunes though! Hope this helps! |

Podcasts are MP3 files. Download to the pc and then copy them to the iPod via the USB cable. That's what I used to with my iPod Touch (4th gen)

It looks like the ipod then. It seems that itunes will let me access pretty much anything.
Thanks for all your replies. |

For LBC, just use yourmuze.fm from your PC or smartphone.
For better sound than the iPod I'd got for/start with the £20 Sansa Clip + with memory expansion. (ebay - white ones certainly left after selling 705 in one listing so far) As long as there is no DRM it will play things fine. Bizarrely the Clip + has the only earphones I've ever been able to wear all day in comfort. I probably have better ones but my ears need their comfort. |
