i really like Karen and she is very qualified for her job on the apprentice.i think people just dont like change and really didnt like Margret being replaced(i liked her also).this is a total guess but im guessing Karen has accomplished as much as Mar in her professional career. Its just a question of taste and the origionals are always hard to followon this type of show...for the fans

Penelope I know so. Do you think she got where she is for being soft?

Me neither.

I'm not really a fan of somebody being called a troll - had it directed at me the other night on another thread - however, when somebody is so bitter and nasty that they actually get fun out of attacking a character who they don't even know, then yes they are trolls. They are trolls because they just get off on trying to wind people up. Incidently, as with your day job which you've alluded to, I know where you're coming from

Why do you keep on about this?

All series she has been all of these things.

I'm beginning to think you only see what you want to see.

You are entitled to your view.

I disagree with you.

With respect, the thread is dissecting her character and capabilities and my post sought to remedy that.

The forum may be about the show but many threads will veer away from the show as will many posts.

I do not think giving lectures as to what the forum is about simply because a poster has disagreed with you is especially constructive.

Karren is a fine businesswoman and a fine person and is there on merit. She makes a positive contribution to the show.

There is alot of that about.

When a debate is polarised both sides tend to adopt that approach.

I am not saying there is anything wrong with it however it is not unique to one side of the debate.

No, her contribution is very negative. Scornful face, derogatory remarks, miserable countenace. Negative all round.

Of course not. But I am talking about her televison personality. I suspect she would like to do more media work and I am suggesting that as she is at present, tv is not a good medium for her.

Thanks for that. I admire Karen and I enjoy her writing in Woman and Home and various other articles where we see a different side to her. I just don't think she's mastered the Apprentice. I think the thing about Margaret and Nick is that they are older and very secure in their personalities. For all her success, I think Karen is insecure and that doesn't work for her on The Apprentice because she trys to cover it with displays of steeliness. But, as you said, just my opinion. I much preferred her when she was simply one of the interviewers when I thought she was excellent.

Yes, I remember kids like you at school whose best reply was to answer back, word for word.

I'm not posting positive or negative comments about Karren. You seem to hate her very being. I don't see any evidence for the things you say about Karren, so I'm just asking you why you continue to do it.

Let's hope she gets replaced for the next series. Such a miserable presence definitely takes something away from the programme.

The poster continues to do it because they get pleasure from saying negative things about Karren and seeing the reaction they get from it. I prefer to see the positive in people and agree with the OP, which is why I've posted on this thread.

Given the patronising comments about what the board is for and some of the other comments I think you have a point.

I personally like Karren on the show and if people do not like her that is their prerogative but banging on about it incessantly and repeatedly I just don't get. Again, you have a good point.

I'm sure that I saw Karren smile last week.

Actually she smiled twice on that episode, in between the customary series of un-constructive, un-helpful remarks and sour looks.

It is noticeable that she is getting less air time, presumably because the suicide rate was going up as a result of the depressive air that she generally exudes.

I think she'd be better if she made a bit more effort with her hair.

Let's hope you get bored of ripping Karren to shreds soon. Such a miserable presence definitely takes something away from this thread.

I've been wondering about her hair and have decided it's a wig. The texture is like nylon and it's lifeless.

I watched tonight's episode carefully to see if I noticed anything in Karren's behaviour or demeanour that would justify the negatives comments she's getting, and I really couldn't. Can't see anything wrong with her dress sense or hair either (as a 43-year-old). It's funny that Nick does far more of the things Karren's accused of doing in this thread, yet he never gets the same criticism. Could it be because he's a MAN? (I'm not criticising him, by the way.)

It saddens me how much people like to woman-bash on these forums. If it isn't their less-than-perfect behaviour, it's their less-than-perfect weight, dress sense or hair. It seems women just can't win whatever they do.

I can understand men wanting to put women down (including those who use feminine pseudonyms), but I wish women would set aside their petty jealousies and support each other more, especially good role models such as Karren.

Maybe it's just me thinking that she and Nick softened their attitude quite a lot tonight. Good to see, I always like their comments - spot on as always.
