Two pictures of Ste and Doug. PJ says Doug hasn't had feelings for guys before and this is more a sexuality storyline rather than a gay one. Doug doesn't say he loves Ste, "It's more an implied elephant in the room. Doug tells Ste that Adam doesn't love him, and suggests that he does. Ste's pretty shocked and he tries to help Doug logic his way out of it, but it's too late!"

Doug tries to take back his feelings because he thinks it's what Ste wants but Ste is coming to the realisation that he may feel the same way. They argue and share one of those "Oh shut up" kisses. In the photo it looks like Ste is kissing Doug. And just to creep those out who are easily creeped - they're in uniform. PJ says there's a lot that needs to be worked out before he's ready for a relationship and over the next few weeks he'll be trying to get to grips with what's happened and he's hard on himself. It's going to be a huge journey etc and forced to work out what he wants. The mag asks if Ste will be there to support him and PJ says "This is something Doug needs to get to grips with. And because of his feelings, Ste is probably not the best person to help him! Doug knows he needs some time to sort himself out. Of course at some point, Brendan is going to learn about their kiss, which can only mean trouble for everyone!"

I must be easily creeped out because my god the idea of them kissing in uniform has made me feel ill.

Oh the plus side it looks like Ste has completely missed Doug's mouth and gone for the upper lip as if he's expecting a mouth full of tash . (Or that's what I choose to believe anyway.)

Well you can never exactly tell from the publicity pics but it looks a bit better . It's cute but it does sort of look like Doug is kissing his twin.

On the one hand I want Brendan to do something about Doug, by channeling Psycho!Brendan, but on the other hand I think Brendan needs to leave this one be to prove to Ste that he can change.

So AAS done, I bought soaplife, that too has an interview a little different to AAS with Peej.

Basically I think it was done after Kierons interview because he catorgorically states in this that HO are not turning Doug gay

Im getting the impression from reading both interviews that its going to be a while before any relationship happens, its all going to be about Doug and him deciding who he is ( I dont hold out much hope we are going to get alot of info on Ste in this especially as it seems Ste wont be helping Doug come to terms with this! ) and at the point in which Doug works out its Ste he wants Brendan will find out about the kiss and all hell will break loose

Oh and I had to laugh at Peej explaining why Ste and Doug are well suited, its because they are strong friends, both been up against Brendan and had tough lifes. Sorry but since when is being up against Brendan a reason for true love happening

It doesnt say hell will break loose, thats just my guess but actually in both articles Peej does mention Brendan finding out or that Doug does know the threat Brendan poses. Im getting the feeling that they might not be in a relationship when Brendan finds out. It looks like there will be no rush and Peej states " Doug is not at a point yet where he can say to himself or anyone else that hes even possibly considering a relationship with Ste "

Thought I'd just let you guys know this, a lovely person who hasn't posted on the thread before let me know that her TV has such amazing HD that she could actually read the contract that Brendan gave Doug to sign. This is what she told me:

"i was sure it was going to say something about Bren owning a share of the business, or at least that's what i wanted it to say. Unfortunately though it didn't have anything like that in it. It was purely about Doug being the borrower and Bren being the lender and just repayments and stuff of the money he was lending. It all looked very above board, especially for Brendan, i was most disappointed."

I am having some really rather rude thoughts about being up against Brendan.

Thats actually a good thing, he made it offical and has proof of the deal and nothing sinister about it. I thought it would have been something Ste would have hated but actually thats nothing.

I was expecting a full on relationship between them, don't want to get my hopes up but if a bloody relationship can be avoided then that is great news.

Unless they kiss and make up (yuck) after the deli reveal and to dig the knife in even more for Brendan, () they then have a relationship. Dammit. I hope not.

I have a feeling thats exactly whats going to happen myself, Im sure there will be a relationship or I dont see the point of it all. I cant see Doug spending weeks deciding he doesnt want Ste and then its just a kiss that Brendan finds out about. Has to be more than that Im afraid.

And the getting jiggy's just a kiss, and an actual relationship's not rushed, and then not even for definite, depending on what both Ste and Doug come to realize about how they feel by the time Brendan finds out. I wonder how he will learn about the kiss though.
The source of the deli money will for sure be revealed then, and Ste will be mad at them both, but this could be Brendan's chance not to overreact after that and prove to Ste he just wants him to be happy no matter what. And I just know Doug's going to come to the conclusion he really does want to be with Ste, it wouldn't be soapy if he didn't. So somebody's getting hurt.

So I'm guessing Ste will choose Doug. Or rather, try to be happy with Doug as the 'better' option, but hopefully they'll grow to mutually feel like what they have is friendship, not love (and that Ste's still in love with Brendan/*whispers* and that Doug wants Lyns). And that'll give Brendan a little more time to sort himself out while that's going on and somehow resolve the abusive issues and draw Ste back to him for good now.
I can so see all of this happening in time for Later. Oh Jesus please.

I'm hoping that through all of Doug figuring himself out, there will be some good stuff with Brendan and the unwanted visitor, not just as a sideline. It been such a long time since Brendan had a proper, complex storyline that lasts longer than a week. Emmett deserves it
