an AI exec just tweeted this:

"Yes, we have another BIG shock on #AmericanIdol tonight. Wow, we are going to have a lot of unhappy people tonight."
1:13am - 20 Apr 12

it's still few hours before result show (US).

he tweeted similar ahead of the results show last week, when both jessica & joshua b3. so.... hmmm....my guess is either joshua & jessica (or both) still not safe.

Worst result ever, can't even believe it.

This is the weirdest results ever but its not one bit shocking at all. Colton was for sure going to be in the bottom 3. Plenty of us at IDF including myself wanted Colton eliminated but thought the Elise<3 was definitely going. Also, he was last on dialidol and dialidol has been really accurate in the recent weeks. After this result, i think dialidol will become an official results spoiler as they have been absolutely spot on. When he ended up in the bottom 3, i was pretty sure that he is gone. The only thing that kinda shock me was hollie being in the bottom 2. She was my least fav contestant until last night and i expected her to be safe.
Elise and Jessica have to pick songs that will is relatable or else they be at risk of elimination if they fail to connect yet again.
Joshua really needs to gtfo, just bloody painful to listen to him.

I usually wait to see the results but couldn't resist looking on this thread

Spoiler
Colton
is the shock of the season - I think they would have used the save had it still been active

I'm wasn't shocked that Colton was bottom three, a little shocked he was actually last though, as I expected Elise to go. Gutted for Hollie, but glad she lives to fight another day.

Elise seems like the cat with nine lives, how many bottom three's has she survived

I just don't get the Elise love from the judges. She sounds off-key most of the time to me? Ironically though I thought she sounded ok last night!

It was a surprise simply because I'd of expected him to have a pretty big fan base that would keep him in even when he performed poorly.

It wasn't a shock or surprise though if you take into account his two performances. 'Bad Romance' is almost always a big no, why people continue to cover it is beyond me, though in fairness the arrangement was at least different and not too bad. His second song was for me the worst of the season from any contestant, who came up with that idea is likely to blame for him leaving the show, because as I said in the other thread before the results, it was horrendous.

Bit of a shame as I think he's got potential. No doubt for me that we'll be seeing him again. I think he'll fit perfectly within a band and likely be one of the biggest things to come out of this season.

I agree - thought he had loads of fans. He was very religious but then so are lots of AI contestants who do very well. I HATE bad romance and haven't seen the second half yet but I'm expecting something bad!

He had lots of talent and potential, would have been a good winner I think. I don't think PP would care if he won, seems too cool for school

I don't think she is good, but I think they feel sorry for her because she seems like a credible hard working singer and they think she deserves it. I also think they like her raw vocals, although I find it painful.

Am I looking at the same website? Dialidol has got loads wrong... didn't they have Josh as 1st when he was b3???

It's the usual "shocker rocker" finishing lower than expected- Daughtry & Durbin did the same.

He was the worst of the night so I'm not surprised at all he's been voted off.

How is Elise still there? We all know she has zero chance of winning the thing.

I'm really shocked and sad that Colton went, he was one of my favourites. Now the only person left who I enjoy watching is Phillip so all my support is now going to him.

I don't mind Hollie and Skylar, but I'm not keen on Joshua and Jessica. Yes they've both got amazing voices but, in my opinion, their performances are always so dull without much personality coming through. I can't imagine sitting through a concert from either of those 2 without falling to sleep. Unfortunately I think one of those 2 will be the winner.

Here, here! It's a shame she dropped back into the bottom three, but I think Joshua, and Jessica in particular got the bounce-back votes as such after being bottom three. But she got through, and that's all that matters She was one of the best this week. I don't think she has a chance of winning unfortunately, but it would be great if she could do a Haley and get top three. *fingers crossed*

I said recent weeks, didnt i? They have been crap but the fact that that had to two supposedly "shock" eliminations right, it definitely increased their credibility.

I was worried they were doing a sort of wagner on her - the criticism didn't get ride of her so try being nice and putting her on first lol. i haven't seen her second performance yet but her first was good (and brave).

You should have read properly and correctly before making a failed observation

That's what I thought too! They were even more complimrntary about her second performance. I'm just glad she finally got some positive comments, you could see how happy she was that they finally were nice to her.

And agree, to go first and start an Adele song acapella?! Bravo, Hollie!

I'm not shocked at all. I think he was pretty terrible most of the time with his affected style of singing and trying to turn songs into 'lullaby's'. Happy he's gone

I'm sure he'll have a big future in the Christian rock scene...

you said accurate in recent weeks and i recalled that joshua was listed as first last week, and he was in the bottom three. i thought last week was considered a recent week. I think this is fair enough to say and I don't think this calls for a snotty response. i don't have any feelings for or against dialidol.

I think he had the best talent by a mile. Not sure I'll keep watching now.

Welcome to a whole hour of painful screeching and standing ovations from the judges (plus Hollie).

yes i found him a little bit... forced? I really hate his hair, it's far too mullety and spikey, but that's just me. He seems quite sweet though, and definitely talented, I thought he would make the final!

It wasn't his best night, but I'm still shocked.....
He became the victim of the travesty that happened with the judges last week

He had his own style, was creative and never tried to mimic other singers. Don't know if I can bother to watch now as of what will be the judges trying to force a final between Jessica and Joshua

I think Jessica is on borrowed time.

Wouldn't be surprised if all 4 girls were the next out.
