I must be having the worst luck when buying media players.
I buy a Netgear EVA2000 which doesn't have the latest firmware on it and Netgear refused me a copy of it, so that got binned being useless.

Now, I buy a replacement Philips HMP2000/05 from having postive feedback plus it having Netflix available and it won't play any of my DivX or AVI files despite Philips boasted that it does.

Any ideas to what's wrong or shall I return this one for being a waste of money too?

... and its gone back to Amazon.
After speaking to Philips online support, they confirmed that it should play anything especially AVI and DivX (which it didn't for me) and he concluded it was knackered. So its gone back to Amazon with a replacement on its way.

Let's see how this goes.

Okay anyone got any ideas what avi/divx format this player works with?
After being reassured by Philips that my previous media player was faulty, I received my replacement only to find that it doesn't play what it says on the box which is getting annoying.

Any ideas before I ask for a refund?
