It can't be as bad as Audrey's pronunciations!

Sorry to be pedantic on a lighthearted thread, but the actual pronunciation of Tyrone is Tirrone, as in the county, so Tirry is in fact correct! It's his mother, Jackie who used to always emphasize the "Tie" bit!
Yeah you are completely right it is Tir-rone

To be even more pedantic I'll add that it is an anglicised version of the Irish Name

Tír Eoghain

Tír meaning land- so the land of Eoghan (Eoin/Owen)

Eoghan was the son of King Niall (of the nine hostages)

Sorry for those completely uninterested in that

I like it. People in life often pronounce peoples names incorrectly.

He probably says Tyrone's name wrong because the writers are pointing out that he doent know him very well, yet he pretends to Tommy that he's got Tyrone all sussed out like saying hes a sponger and no good! Lol
Exactly why I thought he was doing it. I think it's very true to life. Not everyone pronounces everything perfectly.

Yes, he did! And he always said Lickle and Bockle! But I still loved Ashley!

omg that is one of my favorites. There is just no need to pronounce it like that.

'Tirooone' really makes me laugh too.
