When these two are connected via hdmi the tv remote changes operation method in the way it operates when the blue ray input is selected.

It does not select the same menu when the options or home button is pressed on the tv r/c. as it does on other inputs which are connected to none Sony units.

I am wanting to adjust the picture settings ie colour,brightness etc.on this input .

In the Blue Ray Menus try switching off 'HDMI Control'.

It's called CEC - and it's a feature, not a fault.

Turn off HDMI control, on the TV would be the usual method, but if the option exists on the player you could certainly try it there.
