pond water level??

since the heavy rainfall the water level has increased dramatically but to be fair i don't know if the previous lack of rainfall caused the water level to drop and this has just brought it back up. before i could hear the filter thing like a running tap into the pond but now the level is so high i cant even hear the "tap" there does not seem to be any information on the internet about high water level, only low so i presume its not going to be a problem? will it cause a problem for the filter that is cleaning the water?

It should be fine. My pond was well low before the rain but is now full again. Give it a few days of no rain and it will be back down to normal again.

With my pond, I try not to have the water level too high in very hot weather because the fish need the 'splash' of the waterfall that creates air bubbles and gives them much needed oxygen (or so I've been told).

Also, it's quite soothing hearing the sound of running water when sitting out in the garden.

I don't think it would cause any issues with the actual filtering/cleaning of the water - just more water to filter I suppose.

thanks for the replies, i agree the sound of running water is quite nice I did not mention it, seemed quite a selfish reason than the fishes well being.
