The 3 singers had a camera in their car being followed all the way to their audition...........what the hell is that about ?

What, they just recorded themselves and gave the video of themselves driving to their audition to the people who edit the show ?..............rubbish.

And every so often they will look at the people waiting to audition and they end up saying the most random things......FAKE !!!!!! They are all given a microphone and lines to say, simple as that.

Do they think we are stupid or something ? if anyone falls for this then they clearly are.

I think alot of these Cowell shows are staged and certainly in some cases they read off a script. Sharon Osbourne even admitted they wanted her to fake finding out her house had been burned down again so they could catch it on camera but I wouldn't class tonights as fake.

So explain the crappy car thing then because i don't see how that couldn't be set up. I love the show but things like this make me so annoyed.

The vast majority (if not all) of these shows are scripted in someway. Theres no way they would risk making a show that relied purely on chance.

They make the "in the car" bit after the initial auditions with the producers. No-one just goes stragiht through to the judges.

Well that's pointless, what if they said "no we don't want to do that" , would they throw them off the show ?

For me, the incident that brought it all to light was in X-Factor.

"We've made a big mistake", says Simon - cut's to a production assistant running downstairs to find Ray Quinn randomly standing in some room.

They were probably one of the invited acts so it was probably all set up and agreed in advance.

Does it really matter?! They need to create a TV show, so they edit in little cameos like that. It's not a big deal.

These bits are all set up to create some drama and background to the acts.

Like with X Factor last year, before auditioning they had Misha travelling on a bus by herself to the audition. Then showed her in the queue with her friends and family supporting her. lol

It's obvious something strange was going on when the camera was filming them going to their audition. Why would ITV/Simon Cowell go to the trouble of having cameras set up in their car if Cowell didn't know how good they were? I think Cowell gets told by ITV who's good and because he does, he then discusses with ITV on what to do with the auditionee beforehand.

Quite a few out there won't realise this though. They'll still think it's all real.

ooh where were you tree on the Voice thread when I was called a troll and asked if I was stupid because I said that Denise from Five Star had been planted on the show. Of course it's all stage managed and tonight with those guys in the car - what on earth did that add and it was obvious after showing that, that they were going to go through but they were CRAP!

Well that's an easy one to explain.
She gave the camera to a stranger on the bus and asked them to film her looking wistfully out of the bus window.

Anyway, doesn't everybody in the UK walk around in their day to day lives with a video camera filming everything that they do?

He's positively obsessed with doing that. He did it last year on American X Factor. He made his usual overly dramatic announcement 'I think I've made a big mistake.' Then drove to the girl's house sometime after to advise her of such and offer her a place.

The girl in question - Melanie Amaro and her family, all happened to be in at the time, all very well dressed and in full make up, despite the obligatory story about desperate poverty.

Then, amazingly she not only gave the best performance week after week, but won the bloomin' thing.

What an amazing coincidence that this produced such 'good television' for Mr Cowell.

Wasn't that Steve Brookstein? He was rejected originally and Simon says "shame". Then they call him in again and ask him to audition again. Then he's through to the next stage.

As soon as Cowell rubbished the lady impressionist I knew she would be good.

He's so predictable

He did the same thing with the opera guy.

Are they the same people who believe the moon is made of cheese?

And if they do think it's real, so what? It's affecting no ones lives.

All this stuff that Cowell shows do is just drawing attention to the pre-audition stage. Which in my view damages an essential feel that talent shows must have, a sense that the talent has not yet been judged by anyone.

It's like we the viewer are being bypassed and told who to like.


But The Voice obviously does a pre-audtion stage as well. In that case they are honest about it but I still feel like I'm being told to like these singers.

When BGT started, it was constant stream of auditionees walking out on stage, good or bad, performing, and being judged. Then they started putting bits of backstage chat in between acts. Now, the performance seems to be less important than the story behind it.

I know it's all staged, but I still watch for the performance which should be at the core of the show.

Last night was the first in a while I've watched live and (unable to skip all the filler, ads and competitions) found it to be incredibly long and drawn out. I'm happy to watch a bit of the chat, but they seem to have got the balance all wrong.

Are they paying the auditionees to take part now so it's cheaper to show fewer of them? Do they have to pay royalties to the acts? I can't see that happening, so if they really have got thousands of acts to show and it's all for free, they should be struggling to choose who NOT to show.

The fakeness annoys me - one thing I find concerning is what if someone auditions who doesnt realise its fake?

They are all hired from talent websites, just like BB contestants and The Voice/X Factor contestants. If you have a famous bro/sis then you're guaranteed to get in also.
