I've recently bought a TX-L32E5B. It's very nice: it hooked up to the Internet without any serious grief, the picture is nice and it connected neatly to all the devices (Humax PVR, Gen 1 AppleTV, cheap DVD player) that I want. Even the iPad/iPhone remote control appears to work well. But I've got a couple of niggles and things I don't understand.

Question 1. The implication in some of the documentation is that I can have Twitter on-screen while I'm watching TV. But it doesn't appear to be the case: the Twitter application doesn't seem to have any way to also watch a signal. Does anyone know if there's a way to do what I want?

Question 2. Playing around with the various devices I have shows I can choose between 50Hz and 60Hz HDMI signals. The FreeviewHD always says it's 1080i/50Hz, but for the DVD I have a choice between 1080p/50 and 1080p/60, and there's something similar for the AppleTV. Is there any particular reason to care one way or the other?

Question 3. I have a Pantone Huey which I used to calibrate my computer screens. I'm not going to pay £150 or whatever it is to buy a Spyder calibrator, but I'd like line the screen up to be reasonably accurate (to, for example, match iPlayer on my calibrated laptop, which looks way better than the TV). Is it possible to rent those sorts of tool, or is there a cheaper way to get reasonable calibration?
