SKY reverting to TV for no apparent reason

Hi
Anyone know anything that could cause our TV to revert from SKY back to TV without us touching remote. SKY has NOT switched itself off so it may be TV that is making it happen as hubby says the green TV set power light flashes as it happens.

Thanks Jay

Best asking in the Sky part of the satellite section http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=141

Has the TV remote been contaminated by any liquid ?, even a baby or pet putting it in thier mouth, the circuitery may need drying out.

Or batteries are corroding.

i have a feeling its the tv as it is still happening though we did have no problems for a while but last night it was doing it every 5 mins or so. (Plus we were watching a recording so a few moans and groans as had to get that back as well)I removed and replaced the scart leads and was ok for the rest of the night but today it is at it again. Also the tv screen went black the power light flickered green like it does when you switch on then it was back on TV. Had to switch off sky and back on again.
Tried putting tv plug on main socket rather than the extension we use for all the media stuff. Happened again :mad :

You'll probably have more luck posting this in the 'TV and Home Entertainment Technology' section. There's more likely to be someone there who may have an answer to your problem

You might be picking up a signal from somewhere else.

Sam that crossed my mind. Any idea from where though.
Thanks Jay

If your connection is SCART and you have SCART Control enabled on the Sky box (which you have, trust me) then it's most likely to do with losing the voltage via the SCART that controls signal auto-switching.

As an experiment try switching off SCART Control. When you do this you will have to manually select the SCART input on the TV. If the picture stays on all the time after then you know you have found the reason. It's then a question of working out if it's a duff SCART cable (pin pushed in) or the TV or the Sky box which is dropping the voltage.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi Chris Thanks for that.
Have printed a copy so if it starts again will have it handy to try.
