Hi Folks,

I've put Samsung UE40ES5500 Review as the title, but this is more of a first impression than a review as I do not own this new LED TV!

I have been doing a fair bit of research about LED TV's over the past few weeks, as well as visiting a lot of electrical stores to test out the various models available. Due to the success and quality of the now discontinued Samsung UE40D5520 and UE405000 LED TV's I have been paying close attention to the new Samsung UE40ES5500 LED TV.

The new Samsung UE40ES5500 LED TV is a stylish looking TV with a very slim 15-20mm border around its screen. It has virtually every specification you could ever want (except 3D), including SmartTV apps, Web Browser, Duel Core processor, Freeview HD, 100Hz Scanning and USB Recording. However, there is one thing I have noticed about the Samsung UE40ES5500 which has stopped me from making a purchase, and that's its poor picture colour and quality which seems far inferior to TV's Samsung has produced before. This problem may only be with early batches of display TV's, but in every retailer I visited I just found that the colours produced by the Samsung UE40ES5500 just didn't look anywhere near as good as other models of TV's standing next to it. I also found that the most important colour BLACK looked extremely purple in one shop which could not be cured in the settings, a very unusual thing for a Samsung TV. Freeview HD channels lacked resolution too and looked more like standard broadcasts, athough this may be due to the stores TV aerial connections.

If anyone is considering purchasing a new Samsung UE40ES5500 then just make sure you go and see this TV working in as many stores as you can before making a purchase and parting with your hard earned cash!

I hope other readers and Samsung UE40ES5500 owners can provide their opinions of this TV too?
