Been experiencing a picture delay when taking the audio out from my Humax box from the picture shown on my Led tv. I've found out that this is because of picture processing causing the picture to lag behind the audio out from my pvr.
I have my amp connected to the phono outs on my humax box. I've tried taking the audio from the headphone socket but that cuts the audio to the tv which I don't always want. I haven't tried using the optical lead as my amp doesn't support digital optical inputs but I did try pluging a scart to phono adapter into my tv and running it into my amp but that just took the audio from the tv's internal tuner and not the humax box so what I was watching on screen didn't correspond to the audio coming out of the tv into the amp.
Before I think about investing in an optical to phono converter box I could do with knowing whether this will solve the problem or whether it still takes the audio out from the tv tuner as opposed to external sources like pvr, xbox, dvd player etc.
Basically, does the optical out bypass the audio from the internal tv tuner and play audio from whatever external source you happen to be watching? For example if i'm watching a dvd that's plugged into one of the hdmi inputs, will the optical out send the audio from the hdmi input that i'm watching or does it still only output the audio from the tv? I ask this because when I tried taking the audio from the scart on the back of the tv it only output audio from the tv and not the hdmi sources.
Apologies I hope this all makes some kind of sense.

). But any half way decent cable from a couple of quid upwards will do.
