Love it, fell out with CoD after the last effort, havn't looked back since. Allthough the size of the tracers when using a sniper rifle like the L96 is like looking at a potato find it pretty hard to gauge the bullet drop, love it none the less.

I also really like it, one of the only games where I can stomach being killed by a sniper as it takes a degree of skill to do it. Love the melee kills and emphasis on team work etc althought it must be said since the last patch hit detection has suffered with some shots not registering when they are smack on target. Not too often tho and sure it will be fixed soon.

I like it, but is very hard. I even find the campaign quite hard and unforgiving.
I joined it late, so finding my feet a bit and getting killed a lot as I hunt for them.

Love it and still play it most nights. I've never been one for sniping so if I use the recon class I usually roll with a shotgun or the SKS with the scope removed. It's every bit as good as a regular assault rifle.

Got it on PS3. I like it. SP was a bit meh but it had some good moments. MP is better than Bad Company 2 although I don't like how claymores have gone back to disappearing when you die (back to how it was when the game launched).

360 here, love it, although it has balance issues with the classes imo...

eg recon is pretty much useless, everything you do alerts the enemy to your presence, eg soflam, aiming at someone, shooting at someone, it defeats the point imo

also recon is missing a defensive gadget, i preferred BC2's approach of giving recon claymores and c4, giving them anti vehicle capability too, whereas atm they have absoutely bugger all. this would be ok if they were good infantry killers but they're pretty shit at that too.

bring back spec ops class from BF2!

Had it on PS3 since launch. It's the first FPS I've ever played multiplayer on, and before that I'd only played the campaigns on Cod4 & KZ2.

I was dubious about getting it, but took the plunge and have played little else in the last 6 months - am now closing in on 200hrs, which is by far the most time I have ever spent on a single game.

I think I like it because of the variety on offer, it's not just about kills - I know it sounds daft but if you play Conquest or Rush you don't have to be good with a gun to help your team to a win. (which is just as well in my case, after the initial learning curve I don't think I'm ever going to see a positive kdr!).

I bought it for the 360 when I gave up on MW3.
I really really like that it's about playing as a team and not for K/D.
Though my flying skills (or lack there of) do tend to frustrate people, BUT how else can I learn to fly one without trying.

Felt and looked far too much like CoD...even the multiplayer had that feel as well...yes, there is the team work etc but it always felt rushed.

Bad Company 2 multiplayer on the other hand I love - OK I only play deathmatch as I have got bored with the other game types but the fact that:

a) all buildings can be blown up can force you to change tactics each game,
b) All buildings are enterable
c) the large maps mean that yuo can spend ages trying to find enemies while trying to make sure you move around with out being spotted
d) when you do find people the spawning on team members means you can get into intense fire-fights but if things get too hairy you can spawn elsewhere and try a pincer attack.
e) the game isn't owned by snipers - in fact an AN-94 with 4x scope for me is the best gun set-up in the game.
f) the four man fire-teams allows great team work(more so than in BF3 for me)

The gameplay and flow just feels so good and natural and not rushed like BF3 does.

Its alright, I play on PC. Not anywhere near as good as it could be, defo not a Battlefield gamer either and not a true sequel to Battlefield 2. Overall a disappointment especially PC version, no VOIP, no 6 man squads, Flags are to close together unlike BF2 where some maps had like 10 flags spread out over massive distances. The Frostbite 2 tech is unreal very good, the art direction though like the supernova sun and blue tinit have not went down well.

Here to ARMA 3!

PC BF3, 64 player conquest -only, mostly just the air maps.
Its all i play now, ive been a BF gamer since BF2.

Now waiting for only BF2143, probably due out late 2013 at the earliest.

An old school friend keeps telling me to get all these other games, im like, no... theyre all crap. Play just one online game and youll save a lot of money. All these moaners complaining about DLC's costing extra money - the only money ive spent on games since BF3 is the purchase of that game, i wont bother with Close Quarters its just a CoD mod, i'll get the following DLC's. While you guys keep spending a small fortune on all these "must get" chart topping games with usually no more than approx 50 hours of gameplay each.

Ive played BF3 for over 400 hours so far over 5 months, for what 35? an utter bargain of entertainment. Would probably be over 1500 hours if i didnt have a full-time job, or goto the gym 3-4 times/week, socialising, watch TV and other stuff.

Online gaming is the best and cheapest (except free and app games), its all about finding which game you like most.

I thought the opposite. Other than the slight increase in fast-paced combat BF3 seems much more like BC2 than CoD or BF2. Infact CoD doesnt seem much like BF at all other than sharing the relation of FPS and the military.
You sound like me in that we like big open maps, and id agree BF3 maps like Metro are very CoD like. But now all i play are the air maps they are as close to BF2 as you can get, BF2 had bigger maps than BC2 or are about equal if comparing BF2 32-player maps.

Other than the graphic's texture and the time-setting of the BF franchise:
BC2 resembled BF2142.
BF2142 resembled BF2.
BF2 resembled BF1942.

BF2143 will probably resemble BF3 more than 2142.

It's a great game, I never liked or played online FPS as I suck but this game has changed me! It's the only game other than Baldur's Gate 2 & WoW in which I spent more than 250 hrs playing.

It's gone really down hill since the introduction of private servers. The proper Dice servers are a nightmare to find, quick match will always puts you in a private server and if you do well, you usually get kicked by admin.

Go to server search & type in DICE then look for ones that have numbers at the end. Also, the owner will say DICE rather than a gamertag or PSN ID.

I agree though, you should have the ability to do an easy quick match on DICE servers. It a pain in the arse going in for a quick match only to have 1000 tickets!

This. Also remember to favourite it as well for quick access. Typing PRGM into the search will find EA's UK servers. These servers are better if you just want to play one particular game mode as most of the Dice servers are themed and have mixed game types.

I'm a total convert to this game, love it to bits.

Sure, now and then you get a smaller map and too good a team on the other side who base rape, but on the bigger maps its fantastic. Possibly my favourite game ever.

Seems you buy the game and sort of hate it for a few days, but once you start to find your way around, rank up, gain new equipment and understand the principles, its just brill.

Not keen on Rush, but play conquest all the time.

Rent-A-Server =

I'm not even a good player, but the times I am at the top of the board I get kicked.
Plus all of my favourite servers have been deleted. I wish EA would at least have kept alot more official ones open

Had about 10 European Dice servers in my favourites and they've all disappeared and now can't find any using the search apart from US servers. There aren't many EA servers about either and I don't want to play in rented servers with extra tickets and idiot admins. This rent-a-server nonsense is one of the worst things they have done.

Wow, searching for some good servers to use and this gem popped up
flagrun NO KILLING
Description: only flagrun KILLING --> BAN

They best have official servers back soon (can only find 3 and all are full) or the end is coming.
I've had a few good games but otherwise have had never ending matches (I just joined one near the end and it had been going on for 2 hours) or get kicked for killing the admin.

I tried the demo when it first came out and thought it was ok so bought the full game and couldn't get into it at all. I hated the fact of running for what seemed like ever to get into the battle just to be killed and have to do it all again so that was it for me.
It's a good game but just not for me.
