Not only that, it's a particular kind of misogyny that is born out of privilege. For instance, using the phrase 'trolley-dolly' indicates that he thinks people with that job are beneath him.

I think if it was a comment between close friends and not really meant in any serious manner, it's acceptable, it's banter.

However, when Adam said it to Katie, I felt uncomfortable. He really talked down to her. Not a nice trait to have IMO.
