Balun Recommendation
Hi - I have run twin cat5e cable from sitting room to kitchen. The cable length was approximately 30m.
I want to buy a pair of Baluns to transfer the HDMI picture from a sky box. Does anyone have any recommendations for the Baluns from personal experience? There seem to be a lot on the market at different prices, so I expect to they vary in quality. I have seen a couple that dont require a power adaptor at the receiver end. Any thoughts on those too please. |

Use the search function in this forum to find threads discussing this. There are product recommendations from owners if you have a look.

I didn't have a lot of luck finding personal recommendations, but I did order some Baluns through the internet anyway.
The are definitely at the cheaper end of the market costing $26, or £17 in real money! Once they arrive I will test using the pure HDMI output from my skybox and short network cables. I will also have a point of reference if I decide to buy a more expensive solution. Then once my kitchen extension is complete and the new TV in place, I will update the review with details of cable length, picture quality, etc. (Of course of the first part fails, then I'll be watching TV through the RF cable.
