BT Phone transfer to Orange
I transferred my landline From BT to Orange (or at least i thought i had) as my Broadband was already with Orange. Thought everything was done, Then i got another bill from BT, Phoned Orange to ask what was going on and i was told that BT won't release the line to them. My contract with BT is up and i have no outstanding money with them. Has this happened to anyone else?

If you called Orange to get them to takeover line rental from BT then they should do everything for you, so if it didnt happen its Oranges fault, its nonsense for Orange to say BT wont release the line ( in any case Orange re-sell BT so nothing would change apart from the bill for line rental comes from Orange instead of BT)
BT cannot stop you moving to another provider, all they would do is charge you early termination charges if you were still in a minimum term contract with them, sounds like Orange ignored your instructions |

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i was a bit unsure if Orange were telling me the truth, They said they would take care of the switch-over but obviously someone has not done what they were supposed to do.

For a couple of years Orange Broadband which totally junked Wanadoo and Freeserve was rated the worst broadband provider in the UK. Now they are trying to sell this under the T-Mobile brand as well I wouldn't hold my breath with them, you might be better transfering all your services to BT.
