I'm a little on the fence about this game. Sometimes it feels brilliant and other times it feels a little too repetitive. I guess that's the nature of a dungeon crawler. I've played wizard and demon hunter so far and for me, wizard is much easier for a solo player. The AOE attack on a wizard is much more powerful than the arrow shooting hunter abilities.

The AH is indeed rubbish, should of just used the wow one.. miles better.

using elective mode here, but was a couple of days before I realised it was there, not sure why it's hidden away so.

Otherwise, all good fun up to this point!
If you're obsessed with beating your own massacre record, Act III is awesome

At the least the filters on the AH work now, but yeh they have to improve the functionality. Understandably they have to cap the amount of pages, but I would love to be able to filter out all items with no buyout price; I'm sick of getting pages with nothing but N/A when I try to find something at a reasonable price. By the time the auction is over, the item will probably be redundant, so there is very little I would actually bid on...I want to buy NOW

I found that option early on in my game and posted on the thread here a few pages back, so hopefully everyone reading this thread at least.

I have to admit, I was one of the many who were disappointed that the skill tree system was not being implemented, but I like being able to change skills on the fly a la Guild Wars. I see a lot of people are still talking about 'builds' when a set build doesn't exist anymore. Diablo killed me 3 times, before I found the skill combo that worked best.

I'm just glad my DH killed Diablo already. A 1.5 sec Smokescreen probably wouldn't have saved my ass. Looks like Wizards took the biggest hit with their force armour skill 'tweak' though?

Got a level 19 barb and a level 8 witchdoctor. Am liking the game so far but its certainly not worth double the price of most new games. I like the new skill system and the feel of the combat very much.

However the always on element is rubbish and completely unnecessary. I also hate the AH. Its like a shop where the best items for your character are always available for relatively little gold, which completely ruins the loot system because you can never find or buy better items than you can get in there. I know its optional to use it, but its there and i haven't been able to avoid temptation so far...

It was £27.99 pre-order at Amazon up until about a week or so before launch. I dithered and let that opportunity pass me by and ended up buying from my local Asda for £35. Which is pretty standard for a new game nowadays. At least with PC games the boxes start out cheaper than console games and go down in price much quicker too. It's one of the reasons I have never owned a console since NES days.

I take it you paid for the digital download VG?

Can't believe you could duel wield 2handers till yesterday, would of been fun.

There are still builds for general aoe grinding, and builds for bosses, a way to save a set of skills would be handy actually, it's a bit tricky changing a bunch of skills mid fight (in co-op).

If you stick in a max buyout price (just make it really high if you want to see everything with a buyout), you don't get any N/A buyout results anymore.

right i've downloaded the starter trial edition twice now after being given a code. the damn thing woudn't install first two times.kept getting errors. third time lucky this thing is huge! 7 gig download and then a further 15 gig!? to install.
I presume this is the whole game and if I get an unlock for the full game I don't actually have to download anything else?

edit: now when installing it gets to 40% and I get;
"if your installation disc has been ejected, please reinsert it and try again. if not, or if you keep seeing this error, please log into battle.net and install diablo 3 digitally."

hoping to get a good deal on d3 ,might hold out for a while till I find something. you'd think just buying digital would be cheaper eh.

Well i've installed what I believe to be the full game and it's only 8 gig. Not sure where the 15 has come from?

maybe it will work this time, downloading it ,again...

yep its right, its 15 gig;

"space required for install 15 gig"

its most likely for expansions, patches, and any page/temp cache files the game creates while open.

I'm a little on the fence about D3. It has it's moments but at other times it just feels a little dull.. mobs run at me, I kill them.. repeat.

The story line seems to have dipped in the second half of act 1 and I find myself wondering what the story line actually is at times. At the start it seemed quite well structured but towards the end I felt like it lost focus. Perhaps it's just me?

Considering it's no rpg, I actually think the story-telling is done well. However, to get a real feel for the stories - main and individual - you do need to speak to everyone regularly.

Diablo is the ultimate hack 'n' slash game, so from beginning to end killing mobs is your main activity, but possibly the reason Act I is becoming boring for you is that there is no challenge whatsoever. And although the whole game on normal level is a bit of a breeze (secret level excepted), you will notice a considerable spike in the damage the mobs dish out once you get to Act II. Hopefully it will become more satisfying for you later on.

I found my first legendary item - "Leoric's Signet" - off a bloated corpse in the sewers lol.

Meanwhile, bosses so far have given me sub-standard loot.

The one feature I do love about D3 is your stash is available to all characters.. so if you get a nice item you can't use, stash it away and perhaps an alt can use it instead. The blacksmith also carries over to your alts.. and your gold too! Very nice features.

Bosses can drop some decent stuff on the first run through, but they wanted to get away from meph/baal runs of d2, so in d3 the best chance of good drops is from random champion packs.

I know you can download D3 but I prefer getting a physical copy.
Can not find a copy in the Poole/Bournemouth area.
Been to Tesco,Sainsburys,Asda,Argos,P C World,Toys r Us all sold out.
Went into Game and Games Station they had copies on their shelves but when I queued up in Games Station with the copy (which had no sticker just the price) they said" Sorry sold out"
Game had price sticker and another smaller sticker saying "preorder on it" Game said "it would be 4 to 6 weeks before resupply".
Has anyone having problems getting a physical copy in their area.
