Just finished diablo 3 with my underpowered witch doctor. Honestly no matter what I do he is still underpowered, using intelligence gem on armor and strength on weapon but still. Dps has not even reached 2k

I had it pre-ordered from Amazon it only arrived today ... luckily i bought it direct from Blizzard and downloaded ready for launch day Diablo 3 now a present for my brother for his bday next month

Game had price sticker and another smaller sticker saying "preorder on it" Game said "it would be 4 to 6 weeks before resupply".
Has anyone having problems getting a physical copy in their area.

Even if you buy a physical copy, the moment you press 'install' it's the Blizzard downloader that starts up

Is that on normal?

Difference from low dps to high dps (before inferno) is generally 30 mins on AH, plus a few mins on forums looking at the skills that work well together.

My Wizard went from 1.5k dps to 5k dps with only a few new items bought from the auction house. It's really helpful.

A few attempts on Belial, struggled to do much damage to him at all on his second form. Seems tricky even as a demon-hunter who can roll between his claw and other attacks. Bed time for me and I'll give him another try tomorrow.

My DH was the first to get to Belial and it was a tough fight - the other 3 have it much easier since she got Staff of Herding and farmed the secret level for them. Anyway, don't fight him head on, stand to either one of his sides and fight from there. Put up a Sentry so you still have an attack slowly plugging away while you dodge and roll. I used smoke-screen for the first time during this encounter too, but it has been nerfed a bit now (down to 1.5s with rune). His punches do leave behind health bubbles - not always visible beneath his long arms - so try and direct a vault over one if you need it.

Having little resistence to those green attacks, you might need to get some more VIT gear so you can survive them. Ever since my first encounter with Belial @1200 life (d'uh), I have kept a couple of back-up VIT items in my stash for emergencies.

I never used vault or sentry i just kept on the move from side to side and used smoke-screen when needed, was a wee bit more difficult on nightmare but still the same process. It was nightmare diablo that gave me the most problems untill i found a setup that suits my playstyle, 've just started the hell run through and i think i need to go back and farm for some upgrades lol.

Just killed him. I haven't learned sentry yet (I don't think) so I had to rely on vault a lot to dodge between his shots and scoop up the health-globes. He wasn't actually that difficult after I gave it a few tries! On to act 3 now.

"slain by a Deadly Fire Grate" -- after all that raiding he still died by standing in the fire!

Respect to him for just laughing it off, though -- a lot of people would have reacted very differently at losing 175 hours like that!

Finally started to get some decent gear from nightmare - i have had to purchase items for DPS for my barb who seems to be slightly underpowered at the moment..i think i just need some new decent gear and to learn how to play

I ended up getting my demon hunter into inferno and can get the butcher down but i still need to farm so much gold to get upgrades from the ah to progress into act 2 etc it's getting tedious now lol. t

Sounds like good news. Gave up on my WD, he is way way too weak, nothing can bring his dps drastically up, so using monk and so far she is good. I'm on Act 2 of nightmare difficulty

My DH is still farming the secret level for my alt characters so they are coping OK with NM (everything but a barb), it's my DH I sometimes have to go to the AH for - she is on Hell level Act 1. I've upgraded her bow twice now and it does make a huge difference, but sometimes too much so which just makes it feel a little cheap, so I completely understand your reluctance to use the AH JC.

EDIT: Apart from SoH plans, has anyone gotten and crafting recipes yet?

I ran into a bunch of Grotesques and a Champion with Vampiric, mortar and plagued in Act 1, Hell, last night. I think I've just started to learn how to play. Had to actually run through all my skills until I found out how to beat them. Took around 45 minutes to kill them and my new skillset is almost entirely different to my old one, which I cruised through Normal and Nightmare with.

I keep telling myself I'm done with D3, but it keeps dragging me back.

Same thing happened to me last night. Some of the packs in Hell are horrible so I dread to think about ever reaching Inferno.

Just wait till you get to inferno with packs that have numerous combinations ie one i really hate is shielding,mortar,reflect,chain and lifelink. Some combinations aren't too bad as i just kite them but some like that one are really nasty lol and the only reason i take time to try and kill them is for the nephalem valor buff *5.
