Quite right. I haven't heard anyone a work or down the pub mention it. It's very much a "Westminster Village" story for us political anoraks. Normal people couldn't care less.

He just comes across as another out of touch posh person. He's actually defending a rich businessman who ran a business empire that was breaking the law by bribing police officers and hacking phones.

You could almost see the colour drain from his face. He realised he had someone who knew the ins and outs of the industry who's eyes he couldn't pull the wool over - irrespective of where they worked. Might be worth seeing again on iPlayer! Or...maybe not

Indeed. So is the Hunt-saga, for that matter. It's amazing how much newscoverage as well as front page headlines was dedicated to that, instead of the double dip. Cameron must had a crumb of comfort on that one.

Yep, friends of mine bought solid 3 bed semis for less than £50K. I wish I'd worked a bit harder then (though I was very young).

No, and social housing is hardly likely to make them more right wing.

It's not immigration that is the driver behind a shortage and the cost of housing. That's been happening since Thatcher sold off swathes of council housing in the 80s. The causes have been:

Marked increase in single occupier households

The promotion of housing as an investment

The withdrawal from council house building

The lack of any regulatory standards in the rented sector

So social work is an "industry" now is it? No wonder he was so keen on justifying his own existence.

He wont be smiling for long - not when his Councillors take the fallout next week in thre local elections - and the Lib Dem's too - it will be guilt by association

Well, if it was good enough for them...

I expect they were poor but happy.

His face was a picture. He wore the ''oh shit'' look very well.

I agree actually. I can't believe, he believes Murdoch when he says he asked nothing of PMs. That's obviously BS.

There's certaintly an element of that, yes. Doesn't change the fact he wiped the floor with everyone. The only one that may have escaped, and put up a good fight was DA. And it wasn't just GG playing to the crowd - they all were. Cooper, especially, and she hardly got any mass applause. Warsi just embrassed herself.

No... he worked somewhere else. He looked like a Twickenham 'chap'! Real ale and rugby type.

He may well be smiling if Boris wins London. And there's certaintly a chance he could well do. He may even be smiling if Labour lose control of Glasgow, or worse the SNP take full control.

It's been a good week to release bad economic news

I'm off to watch it now. Why are you taking the guy from the housing industry's word for it, for all we know he's speaking from a personal and political position and just using his job to add weight to his argument.

You aren't going to be an anti immigration, welfare control , right winger and be a social housing officer, are you?

They wouldn't be on together.

Ed was on todays DP though. You should have seen the other day at Treasury Questions. A Lib Dem MP, John Pugh asked a pretty crawling up question to Georgie boy or Alexander and you should have seen the long outraged disgusted look Ed Balls gave him. I'm sure he said "CRAP" to him first as well! It was so funny but brilliant by Ed Balls I thought! Thats him in his Rotweiller mode for sure!

I wouldn't put any money on it - Red Ken has a lot of popularity

So where are all the three million newcomers since the Blair era started, camping in some field somewhere?

Switched over after wanting to throw a brick at my TV at that idiot, trying to sweep it under the carpet. However the Public are more worried about the economy, than anything happening at Leveson, although Leveson is quite important.

Hard to say for sure how it will go. But I find it increasingly more difficult to believe Ken will be back! His crying incident has got me wondering if there's some private issues in his life. Or maybe he really did genuinely feel a sense of responsibility?
