Not sure. I think he's got a deal or something brewing. And sadly not, Brendan takes him on a day out soon.

I'm desperately hoping, and suspect, there's an ulterior motive there.

LOL @ Dannito.

Ayla, we think/possibly fanwanked that Brendan's made a business deal with this Walker.

Sadly he hasnt given Joel the boot as he takes him out on bonding trip next week or the week after i cant remember.

I reckon he is going back in to dealing and doesnt want the police to be watching him

Darn, kinda enjoyed it though, for the Brendany insights.

I thought it was a good episode - felt much more like the real Brendan.

It's a shame he takes Joel out on a date soon I hope he dumps him once and for all.

I first thought he was referring to the fact that he's now got Carter&Hay, so he doesn't care about the club.

Also, I was just thinking, how likely do we think it is that Brendan sets it up for someone to threaten Joel with a knife, and it goes wrong, leading to the stabby times?

Ever since he got him beaten up, I think he's capable of anything now. Even getting him stabbed.

I was (and still am) a little singy-songy angel, swayed from my angelic path by addictive television. *needs halo smiley*

I love a bit of sci-fi so that's what appealed. But as far as spacey-ness goes it's not too spacey. Marketed as space with a cowboy twist, they've got the ability to fly but most of the population is poor and f'ed up. But it is very witty, well written, smart and dramatic also, with a good set of ensemble characters. It's definitely worth a watch.

- at Spanish Dannito Houstono. Cut off (or bludgeoned off) in his prime was poor Dannito.

ETA: Brendan and Joel "going on a day out" always conjures up images of them going to the zoo for me rather than dodgy deals, my brain is malfunctioning. Brendan talking in metaphors and similes as he walks around the cages.

You know when Ally comes to collect Amy for their date and he's saying to Ste that he gets what he said about the whole territory thing, and then Ste's like "I said that?" Ally says "Yeah, pretty much." Then Ste makes this impressed face at himself. Forgot to say at the time but I found that a typically adorable and funneh Ste moment.

Possibly...I wouldn't rule it out.

What are you implying, Quizzy?

I've not hugged Ayla yet, so she isn't turning all gay on me.

And I'll try to check out Firefly when I've got through all the other millions of shows on my list. It's going to take me years!

Yeah cos I don't think he actually likes having Joel around. And I think he tolerates him because he doesn't know how to get rid of him yet. At least from the club.

Maybe Walker helps or summat.

I've always thought it would be better if they had more of a fraught relationship than this pally thing. I know they're not really friends, but I'd prefer them to just full on dislike each other. So I wouldn't be against Brendan seeking revenge.

Aww, I love that too. That whole exchange was brilliant.

I love how he's smarter than he realises

Oh this PJ/Rob Norbury convo made me laugh:

“Guys... And maybe gals from HO.... Who has a beard trimmer that they are bringing tomorrow? And can I shave with it? Thanks. #soverylazy”

“@peejaybrennan depends where u are using it?”

Quote:
“@norburyrob obvi it's a full body trim. Yeah I should've made that clear.”

Oh God, don't start Brendan on his animal metaphors. We'll be here all day.

Bless him. I don't think he even realised he was making a metaphor. He thought he was just genuinely discussing the Middle East.

Yeah same, really. I think this tolerance of each other, and Joel trying to prove himself to Brendan is what's making things worse about the story.

But I do wonder if all a long, Brendan's been luring him into a false sense of security, to just spring something up on him last minute to get the club off him. Cos he didn't want Joel to have the other half of the club. I don't think he's changed his mind.

Brendan could get rid of Joel tomorrow, for a while anyway, by shopping him to the police.

I'm still clinging onto the idea that this trip out is just an excuse to get Joel to do his dirty work.

I really want the lion thing but that would be asking too much.

I think the thing I hate most about the Joel stuff is when he's trying to emulate Brendan, and when I get the impression we're supposed to think he's like Brendan.

I honestly can't stand it.

Definitely. I just see it as being inconsistent with who Brendan is. He'd never have taken Joel under his wing and asked him to move in.

BIB - I've had this suspicion since the start. I don't for a second thing he's not playing him, actually. I definitely think Joel's in for a shock.

It has to be, surely?

If it's not, and Brendan's just casually taking him out for the day, I'll seriously bang my head against a wall. Repeatedly.

When he never took Ste anywhere. Not even as mates.

I know he took him to the poker game, and to The Dog that time when Warren first showed his face, but I get the feeling he's taking Joel somewhere proper. And poor Ste ...

We know it's a stupid idea Maya but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.

They probably go to Maddie's coffee shop event, whatever the f*ck that is supposed to be all about.

It better not involve drawing pictures of people again.
