I liked someone's idea that this Walker is to do with Class A drugs and maybe Joel is used as a mule or something.

I imply nothing!

My Firefly BB thread infiltration mission is complete then

Better than Ally and his menu reading.

ETA: Nighty night Ayla.

I have come to the conclusion that "Stendan" is not going to happen.. sad thing is I understand and I dont want it to happen. I think time apart like yano will be good for the two of em.

Oh I hope we don't get a load more of his what it takes to be a man nonsense.

They could just about get away with it with Dec but not with some bloody random who he actually seems to hate most of the time.

Night Ayla!

Aw, don't worry. He loves Ste. Joel's just the annoying puppy who follow him around. And Bren took Ste to the sex dungeon. That's good enough for now.

The question is, can it beat his fruit metaphors? Can it?!

I was just having a look at some clips on DM and was watching the first kiss scene in the flat.

Do you think that Brendan planned on making a move on Ste that night or do you think that he saw an opportunity when Ste got up to get a drink and just went for it.

I was always a bit confused as I dont know why Brendan thought that Ste would be up for it as Ste had given him no signs that he was interested in him in that way. You could say that Brendan saw that Ste looked up to him but it appeared to me early on that Ste really wanted to be mates with Brendan.

To be honest Miss Celtic I don't think we will ever know.

Much as I hate to say it when it comes down to it the whole Ste suddenly turning gay and the Callum story are as contrived and stupid as the Doug and Texas ones.

There was never any suggestion that Ste might be interested in men or that he was ever unsure about his sexuality.

Where HOs have gone wrong is that they have used the same old storyline too many times.

You can't just keep repeating it and expecting people to just accept it.

Texas was just about believable, if you squinted, but Doug is a step too far.

He definitely planned it that night. I mean, had Ste given vibes that he definitely wasn't interested, he wouldn't have done it but by then, Brendan knew.

Yeah, the man has a perfect Gaydar.

It still kind of amazes me that Ste was so oblivious.

I mean Brendan was being as subtle as a bull in a china shop with the way he stared at him.

Actually, how nobody who ever saw Brendan in the club around that time realised is beyond me. They're all idiots.

I think they just about got away with it with Ste. No friends, this charismatic manly man who made him feel a bit special and who he could look up to, the backstory was a bit iffy, but you could sort of believe it because I'd imagine Ste's upbringing didn't enlighten him to gay relationships. I do think it was an error not making him bi.

Plus I think it was built in a nice way.

Ha, I know. And it's the same with Doug now, he's clueless.

Oh Ste.

Yeah, even Brendan wasn't as obvious as Doug is being.

Oh let me stare at your bum Ste, oh no, you've looked at me, wow this wall looks interesting.

Honestly.

Again, apart from Doug.

Well, Jacqui and Rhys were too obsessed with each other and Cheryl's a bit dim.

And Ste's dimmer.

And it's pretty hot.

I'm as shallow as that, if they hadn't had the chemistry they have together I would have probably been as pissed off about Ste turning gay as I am about Doug.

And I am actually a bit pissed off with all the I don't know anything about women, she does nothing for me stuff as well.

Why would they feel the need to make him so much of a proper gay?

Yeah, I still think, as Kieron originally said, Ste should be bi.

But yes, I dunno, it was slowly built and as you say, Ste didn't really, apart from Justin, have any men or male bonds in his life.

BIB: Good point, that.

BIB: Yeah, I think for me that was the crux of it. And it really didn't bother me, probably for that reason.

Plus, I found it quite interesting to see how Ste dealt with his feelings for Brendan. It was quite different to the usual coming out angst. He was smitten pretty much immediately after that day in the cellar.

I haven't had any good ones in ages, I do get a nice mature dating one on facebook where the man in the advert seems to be Jack Duckworth.

He can rise to the challenge.

IMO he definitely planned it, what with the get him very tipsy and the "oh no I've forgot my cash let's go back to my flat ploy". The whole of the start of that scene he's just watching Ste endlessly waiting for the opportune moment for it to seem accidental and Ste's fault.

I always thought at that stage Brendan, at the start of the relationship, wasn't even bothered if Ste was/would in the future be defining himself as gay/bi.
He just found him attractive and thought Ste had the right sort of personality/attitude towards him (Brendan), that made him easier to manipulate into doing what he wanted (ie. sleep with him, do what he says and stay quiet about it).

And yes, I'm a little peeved by that too.

Hello. Hope Part 101 is a bit happier than Part 100.

I do think Ste's upbringing in that kind of underclass environment makes it quite believable that if he'd had any gay feelings earlier in his life he'd have ignored or repressed or even just not recognised them. Then kapow! Brendan comes along and is this powerful, glamorous, funny, clever, charismatic figure who just triggered everything that was already inside Ste. So to speak.
