Samsung TV/Home Cinema Owners
I started this thread just to see how many people that use these forums currently own a Samsung TV or Home Cinema/Blu-Ray Player.
Which model/models do you own ?. I own a 55D6530 Smart and a HT-D5530 home cinema. Thanks for any replies. |

unfair criticism
*rant* I for one am getting fed up with people saying that Samsung TV's are cheap crap and it seems to be the same for those that choose to purchase an LG TV. Just because it isn't made by Panasonic or Sony doesn't automatically mean it's gonna be sh*t. It's unfair criticism in my eyes. a decent sized Samsung or LG (55" upwards) will cost around £1800-£2200 so how the hell is that cheap

I can't remember the model number but have a 42" Samsung LED/LCD and a 6 year old LCD both performing perfectly.

6 Years is excellent. I hope mine lasts as long as that. Can I ask if you think Samsung TV's get unfair criticism for being unreliable and cheap crap.

In the early days they were reported as being worse than some but personal experience has not backed that up.
I don't think there is much in it now between the top four or five manufacturers. Korean goods seem to be taking over the Japanese territory fast both in tech and cars... |

I own a Samsung UE40D6530 which I bought last July and before I bought it I carried out years of research going back to Dec 2003 when the best LCD TV you could buy was a 19 inch 4:3 that cost £750! I took advantage of a Richer Sound deal which included the Samsung BD-C5900 3D Blu-ray player and 2 pairs active shutter SSG-3100GB glasses.
Smart TV it may be but using it as a web interface is a waste of time (for me) except for iPlayer. The main reason for the purchase was its excellent picture. Personally I don't care what other people think as regards the quality of the manufacture. I make my own mind up about everything I buy. My previous TV was an FST NEC which I had for 21 years and I bought that because I had been impressed by the quality of their computer monitors as supplied to ICI. I find that if you care for the things you own they will usually care for you, even if they are inanimate objects. Whatever you can think about, from politics to paper clips, there will be views for and against, maybe based on years of experience, maybe based on other people's opinions that have been adopted by yourself, but I like to carry out my own research and not be swayed either way by feelings and judgements that are irrelevant to my own needs. Over the years, by being curious and trying not to be judgemental I have formed my own ways of separating the wheat from the chaff. |

I'm the same. I bought Samsung because I liked what I had seen and both have worked fine so far. It's just that others seem to be too quick to right them off as being crap.

I have a 32" Samsung TV which I bought at the beginning of this year and a 46" Samsung TV which is 3 years old. I don't have the model numbers to hand though.
I also have a Samsung home cinema which I bought at the same time as the 46" but sadly, the DVD player stopped working months ago and it's not worth repairing, so I'm now going to start again with the home cinema but this time I'm going for separates and not Samsung. ![]() I like Samsung products and have owned 3 of their LCD TVs, one of which is now about 6 or 7 years old and is still going strong. |

OP You should go to Dubai (if you haven't already) - there's a big Samsung shop there with only Samsung products (states the bleedin' obvious) - I loved it - I spent about half an hour playing with the Galaxy Note.
They've got all their top 3D TVs on display with 3D Blu Rays playing. |
