Hand held mixer

Looking for a new hand held mixer, not too fast for the first speed, I'm not bothered about lots of attachments as long as the basic is there. Price up to about £40. Any recommendations, please?

I cannot help with the best but I would steer clear of anthony worrel thompsons 3 beater mixer, it really is the worst bit of kitchen kit I have ever had !

James Martin endorsed one, which I've got. It was around £20 and does the job, but sadly doesn't get used anymore since I got this

Go for a Kenwood. Excellent longlasting brand, and well within your budget. I've had one for years, which belonged to my mother-in-law before me, and it's still working perfectly.

Thanks all for your useful input. I shall probably get the Kenwood, I had a Kenwood Chef many years ago and it never once let me down. I gave it away when the children grew up and left home, and I bet it's still going strong somewhere!
