Guys,

This is a totally self indulgent thread, but as this is the part of the forum I ues the most I wanted to post here...

I am officially eating for 2... Had my 12 week scan today and our first baby will be due on 5th November

So far I am loving my food, so hopefully little baby rainbow will be a foodie too!

If anyone is offended I'll get this thread moved...

xxxx

Congratulations. Is rainbow your real surname? Mr Gooby's gran was called Edna May Rainbow and I think it is most gorgeous name!

I always wondered if expectant mums really do get food cravings beyond normal (sadly I never got preggers) maybe you can report in occasionally.

Congrats! When I was pregnant I was the opposite of most people and couldn't stand bland food, I was living off curries, might be why the small person, now almost 4, loves jalfrezi and the like.

Congratulations - I ate like a horse through my pregnancy and my son now eats anything and everything. The one thing I really craved was orange juice, I am guessing I needed the Vitamin C.

My wife is due on 29th October!! She's been having some cravings (not particularly weird stuff...olives and salty things mostly) but also has gone off food that she previously loved. Like for example, she used to love fish, now she can't stand it. She's really missing being able to eat some of the cheeses that you aren't allowed. Not that she ate a large amount of Brie, blue cheese or whatever before hand, but she seems to just want them constantly at the minute.

Congrats Rainbow!!

Hi RG - I'm due on the 28th October and as a fellow food lover am hating feeling so nauseous at the moment. I definitely feel better if I've eaten plenty of fresh fruit and veg even though what I seem to want all the time is cheese. Can't wait for the fresh peas in their pods to come out in my local shop so I can nibble them all day long.

just clocked that you want cheese too.. the babies wants calcium clearly!

Aww how lovely enjoy your pregnancy!
I'm 54 now - well only last Wednesday, days count at my age!

I have three children - children? my son will be 30 on 2 Nov, my daughter is just 26 and my youngest son will soon be 25.
I was so thirsty with my eldest and would stand at the fridge peeling cold oranges! Ironically this son hates fruit! I also craved crisps, any flavour. Then with my daughter it was cheese & cabbage, not necessarily together. Then with my youngest son I remember feeling faint in town one Saturday and all I wanted was cockles with vinegar, and pepper - I'm veggie btw! I ate one after my husband ran to the market across the road and then felt sick. I had good pregnancies, births - but it was a few years later it was discovered I had pernicious anaemia - hence my extreme tiredness, thirst etc.
Ironically I was thinner after having my first two babies - and put on 4 stones with my 3rd! He was the only one I had stretch marks from too - he was also the naughtiest ! I wonder I'd there's a connection?!

Congrats RBG!x My assistant is 21 and every day she is stuffing herself and telling me it's because she's eating for 2. Before joining the pudding club she was 8 stone and insists she is going back to that after Bubba is born. Oh no you're not I say! Just eat sensibly and everything will be fine.

Congratulations!

My sister uses this excuse too and why not. She hasn't put on much weight so far, only 6lb and is 30 weeks.

Of course though, being a spoil sport I will point out you don't actually need extra calories in your first 6 months of pregnancy and then you only need an extra 200 calories a day for the last 3 months, but where's the fun in that.
