Yes it's true, he does. I guess maybe they wanted to create drama? And Stug might not have been able to happen with Brendan working so closely with Ste, I guess.

Oh I so hope he doesn't do that. I don't think they'll go there again, though. They seem to really want to build up Ste's confidence.

I like to think he went to watch a pixar animation. He was the only lonesome adult there. Everyone else brought their kids, but ste just wanted to be a kid.

PJ's interview is up.

Stug has been planned since last summer!

Anyway, he comes across well, and it's a lot of stuff that's been said before in the soap mags, then this:

It's inevitable that Brendan will find out about Ste and Doug at some point. What can the fans expect from that?
"Obviously there's a lot of drama that will be occurring! I don't think that Brendan is someone who would take that sort of information lightly. Also, Doug still owes Brendan £80,000 for the business - which Ste has no idea about.

"All of the elements are coming together to create the perfect storm, and I think the audience will love it - even the 'Stendan' fans. There's loads of stuff to go around for everybody and we haven't sold anybody short.

"If people are upset about 'Stendan', just be patient as there's loads of stuff coming up. We've been filming so much over the past few months and I'm very proud of it. I've seen some of it back and I think it's some of the best stuff we've done. Working with Kieron and Emmett is just a gift."

I was shocked at that too LMan - although now that I think about it, he says 'late summer', so I guess it makes sense that they would have planned it by September.

I like the sound of the upcoming Stugden...

Still though, I do think, with it being created that far back, I would have eased up on a lot of the Bex/Lynsey/Jodie stuff. I know he says until Christmas was already storylined by that point, but it could maybe have been toned down a bit.

I hope he means what he says when he says no one will be sold short because I feel very much so sold short so far.

Definitely! They really did make out that Bex was the love of his life, that there was chemistry with Lynsey, that he fancied Jodie. I don't get it at all.

I do too. I actually feel like we've all been sold short the most. What have we actually been given in the past nine months?

Saw the spoiler pictures. If you want to keep it a secret Tilly, don't hold hands when there's two other people in the bloody room.

Nothing?

Bar the odd scene.

And this story sounds so extremely Doug-focused.

I'm anticipating/dreading Kieron's interview just so we can finally hear things from a Ste perspective, cos we're not getting it onscreen.

BIB: Very much so.

Although I'm not sure if I'm getting that vibe just because we've really only heard PJ's perspective in depth so far. So, I'm very interested to hear what Kieron has to say.

I have to say, I was also really surprised to hear that they've had this planned since late summer. You wouldn't have known.

We've basically been ignored since ILY week. Anything we have been given has been mostly them angry with each other.

I love Doug, but I didn't want this to be his coming out story. I really hope Ste still plays a big part in it. I feel like this should be about his side, his choice between Doug and Brendan.

Even when we do get Kieron's interview, I hope what he says actually comes across onscreen. Cos at the minute it's Doug that's getting the development and really, we're not getting much, if any, of Ste's thoughts bar the fact that he's interfering in Amy's life... cos he's lonely.... I guess. And even that came from Amy and not Ste.

Maybe it'll turn into that? At this moment in time, Ste sounds very plot device-y.

Though like Maya says, maybe that's because we've only heard PJ's perspective.

Yes, I hope Maya's right. And I'm sure when Brendan gets involved the focus will be much more on Ste.

I'm confused though. What is all of this meant to say and mean for Doug's character later on?

Planned since late last summer, but then there was in fact Bex/Lynsey/Jodie

It all seems to suggest both opposite extremes can either still be the direction: either he's only being focused on now to explore/explain the turn before becoming more of a plot-device for Ste/Stendan, and they played to his general heterosexuality and feelings for Bex since last year because he's meant to be straight again after the reunion; or because this was planned since last summer, it's all going to effect some major permanent changes for Doug as well that could mean he's still involved/an option a long time past Later.

Besides the business and Walker, I'm petrified of what other developments a part to all of this could be a reason for why they needed that kind of planning and foresight.
