LOL yeah, funny how it's "genuine love" on Doug's side, but nobody is saying how "in love" Ste will be.

Exactly. It wouldn't take much at all, and it baffles me why they don't just throw the bone, and then carry on. One sad look from Ste, that's all it takes. One sassy interaction that causes sadfaces afterwards. Just something that says, Ste isn't as over Brendan as he's letting on.

But who wants to see that when we can see Maddie and Callum meet outside Price Slice and have an awkward 5 minute conversation for the hundredth time.

ETA: No offence to PJ but he can be quiet on that part, to be honest. We've been patient for naffing ages now. I'm not being told to wait for something, if I have no idea what I'm chuffing waiting for. It doesn't work like that.

I know. It would take, max, five seconds. One sadface. ONE SADFACE.

Here, right, don't diss Caddie.

I just hope they don't think that people will eat up any old Ste and Brendan scene and be happy, even if it's just Brendan being a bastard and/or Ste telling us he's over him again.

I think they do love, I really do think they see Stendan differently to a shipper, Stendan to them is them having good dramatic scenes I think which of course they could have, doesnt mean its good if you actually want them to try a relationship in the end.

I struggle to see PJ basically telling Stendan fans to hang on in there because there is good stuff for Stendan in the end and his character is going to end up hurt and dumped in the end

I just have a feeling that they think that Stendan fans will start to like Stug and I bloody won't...

Stugs genuine love can kiss my ass..

It seems i'm not in a good mood today...

I use to say that all I needed was for Brendan and Ste to interact but that was when I thought that maybe just maybe their relationship was important and that it was going somewhere now to have them just interact while Ste is in a relationship with Doug is like a smack in the mouth.. I want more then that...

Bloody Doug

Mine too. And my ass really isn't that pretty.

Yep, I wouldn't say I was in a good mood today either.

Screw you Hollyoaks.

Can I just say I love reading the ranting from you guys. It soothes me!

The stuff about not choosing Bex seems actually insane to me. And remember when he threw himself at Lynsey in joy once he'd survived his drowning? To say it's been planned for so long seems like a defence, but anyway..!

See I'm more annoyed about, basically, being told what to do and how to feel, than anything PJ actually said.

We have ES telling us that we have next to no faith, that we should play the long game, and then PJ telling us we should be patient, etc, and Bronagh and Kieron dangling the fact there's some Stendan related news infront of our faces, and it's starting to really annoy me. We're being strung along, and whilst I really don't mind waiting for stuff, I just wish we knew what we were actually waiting for. Are we waiting for them to eventually reunite? Are they going to resolve the entire storyline with one conversation? Or ... what?

Hmph.

I honestly think it's BS. If they wanted to go there, why not have Doug and Ste interact before? Why not involve Ste in Doug's one day suicide story? Why not show Doug questioning his relationships?

I know what I saw. Bex. Lynsey. Suuuuree, HO, whatever.

Screw you.

That's the thing. Ste did sweet bugger all, all Winter.

Would it have killed them to stick in some early Stug scenes?

They stuck in Prison!Brendan scenes when they weren't originally planned, the odd Ste and Doug moment wouldn't have gone amiss.

And I agree, Tez. I want to know what I'm waiting for but I feel we won't find out until they start writing Ste.

Yeah its the being strung alone bit thats getting on my last nerve...I feel like they are saying all this so they don't lose veiwers....when they have plans for Stendan to actually be together in the future...

Thank God for Walker..I am still very excited about him,..I'm very likely setting myself up for another fall...

So we'll never find out, then?

Yeah, I feel like that, too. That ES is doing all she can to make sure she doesn't lose any viewers. Telling people what they want to hear so that they continue to watch, and wait for something that may or may not happen.

I'm excited about Walker, too, but I know I'll probably be disappointed cos what I want to happen won't.

We'll find out when Brendan's gone, no doubt.

God I totally hope someone here gets that storyliners job. I really think they need to be told and shown how to write Ste, and I know that anyone from here who has entered (or who should enter, if they haven't. ) would totally let them know.

In fairness to her thats what most EP's do, unless you are him from Emmerdale who wrote off Charity and Cain bluntly. Yet even then had Jeff and Emma do the red carpet together Saturday

I do worry about their inability to write Ste. It seems that, as soon as it comes to matters of his lovelife, they can't do it. I mean, Ste starts online dating this week. That's a big step. The build-up? Amy getting bored of him and telling him he needed some fun cos Ste talks about olives too much, or something.

Not to mention how they've just totally ignored the dangers of it, too. I know they've already done the dangers of online dating, but a little bit of a reminder wouldn't go amiss. Cos since Doug pretty much knows that it's how Bex got killed, you'd think he would be more ... cautious, for the love of his life.

But yeah, they can't write Ste when it comes to his lovelife. They failed massively with Noah, and they continue to fail now. And it's really not that hard to get it right, or to show more feeling from him. But you would think it was one of the most difficult tasks in life, with how bad they do.

Just read the interview. Nothing we didn't know really, is it? Brendan's going to get involved and he expects "even the stendan fans" will like it. I don't like the choice of the word "even"....

But otherwise I'm still cautiously optimistic. All this talk of "be patient" "be patient" from everyone tells me there's definitely stendan planned, and they're frustrated that we're all jumping the gun and hating everything. Understandable, I guess. I'm prepared to be patient I suppose. I'm willing to watch Stug and enjoy Brendan's reaction - although I do hope Brendan's reaction is fresh.

Otherwise I think the saving grace is the timing of all of this. Because yeah, 9 months of nothing.... then it all heats up. I am tending to agree with what Boom said, this IS just in time for Hollyoaks Later. I don't like to think like that because I don't want to be heading for a massive let down... but, well....

Also, other beacons of hope, Kieron and Bronaghs 'stendan news' on the Keebro show. Why do that if it's nothing special? And - clutching straws - I did like how PJ said "working with Kieron and Emmett has been a gift", as if HE'S been included in THEIR storyline. Just saying.

'Ere, R Henry wunt kill anyone, him.

I know. It's so, so, bizarre. they were writing Ste so well there for a time, then as soon as a love life story starts, it all goes to hell.

See I'm torn about whether it is in time for HOs Later. We don't know when Ste and Doug officially get together, so it's pretty difficult to tell.

I bet he's not even a real person. I bet he's some old murderer who's been waiting for some beautiful young twink to bite so he can reel them in like a fish.

It confuses me, too. Cos with Brendan, they used to be able to write him pretty well. We always knew what he was feeling, and then Noah came along and well ... we all know what happened there.

Oh "Henry" is blatantly a fake. Look at that profile pic. That's not an amateur shot. Ste would be murdered, him.

#BlameNoah

Seriously. The problems all started with him and Ste's writing has been jarringly hit and miss since.

The whole gay therapy thing?

Yeah, it's awful. And the guy is actually kinda scary.

Oh God. "Gay Agenda" reference.
