The desire hd will lose less value than the galaxy note will over the next 12 months. Hang on to it.

So you think I am wrong that a galaxy note price change from new now to second hand in a year will be more than the value the dhd loses? It should still be worth something ina year if its worth 180 now, should still get 60-90 in a year.

Some strange answers here. If you want the Note get it. It is a fantastic piece of kit. If you don't need the DHD as a spare then the sooner you sell it the better.

I don't get your question. Are you getting a note right now or not ?
The value of your phone will decrease over time. There's not many phone that hold their value, maybe high-end iPhones, the SGS2, the One X would, I imagine, hold its value very well.
I am currently mulling over whether I should get rid of my Dell Streak and HD2. I have an SGS2 already and want the SG3 or One X. The thing is, I use the monstrous Streak as a GPS device bolted to my bike handlebars, and the HD2 as a WiFi modem for it to connect to the net. The SGS2 has only just now (after having it for a year) become my main phone. I love my HD2's ability to run Android and a result of that meant my SGS2 was basically a back pocket 'fad' device...until now.
Anyway, if you want full value for your phone then you should sell now. Phone prices can go up when an insurer or network need some but again that's more like BB, iPhone or something that's not SO old.
I am currently reviewing the differences between SellMyMobile and OnBay Recycle to see which comparison site will give me a good deal.

I have been stung so many times by timewasters. Scammers wanting to 'buy' my phone, then Western Union some money. 'Buy now' on my car, only to cancel, then offer half as much, eBay taking £100 fees from sales amounting to £300. I'd rather go through a comparison site and get the job done.
Also I would sell my HD2 if it weren't in regular use. It's also a developers dream and can run literally every single mobile operating system in existence today. I have even had Linux and Windows 95 running on it.
I used O2 Recycle and got £230 for a 18month old iPhone4 16GB. You don't have to be an O2 customer to use them. Sent my phone recorded delivery on a Wednesday and the money was showing in my account on Friday.
It was more than VodaFone/Mazuma offered too.

you can select various buyer requirements inc uk only buyers, buyers with x amount of feedback, buyers must have paypal acc etc to avoid all that nonsense.
Just an update - I used their website www.onbay.co.uk/recycle and sold my Dell Streak 5. I reviewed the recyclers first to see if saving a couple of £'s would guarantee a better service. So many reviews out there about people sending their phone to the highest offer and having bad service so I just chose the biggest name.
I know you can change settings on ebay but they just register in Europe or the UK and once won, you'll get a message saying "I want you to send it to my wife/husband/sibling in Nigeria who is with the peace corps" etc.

1- most people couldn't careless how many cores their phone has.
2- if you want a new phone buy it, if you don't don't.
3- if money is the main concern then obviously your desire HD is going to depreciate less than a new 400 quid phone.
4- £180 is right at the top end of what you can get for the HD
5- if you buy a new phone you will have a new phone.
