What do you have for breakfast?
Hi,
Throughout my life I've been told continuously that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Now, brushing aside the arguments for and against that, I was wondering if anyone had any creative ideas for something very tasty for breakfast? I myself at the moment have just marmite on toast - what do the rest of you have? |

You can get little packets of kippers with butter in for about a pound.
I don't have breakfast, or lunch really. I can never think of what to have. |

As a child, we used to always have something cooked (eggs: boiled, poached etc), in later years cereal. Not really big on the latter. These days we tend to have what we used to have for breakfast in the evening and eat our dinner in the middle of the day !!
A month ago, it was my Scandinavian great uncle's birthday, so we went round for his favourite breakfast of cold meats, cheeses and fancy breads. He also had some raw fish, but he was alone with that one !!! |

The same thing every day (because I actually love it, plus it's very healthy): Porridge with blueberries, cinnamon, strawberries, flaxseed and oatmilk.

Nothing until dinner usually. Sometimes I'll have a muffin or something at around 11. On a weekend I might warm up some ready-made pancakes for my son and have one myself. Once every couple of weeks I'll have cereal for dinner but never for breakfast. Just don't seem to have an appetite until about 5pm! Wish I could say it helps keep me slim, but I'm getting fatter by the day. Size 14+ now from a size 8 this time last year. Not eating properly probably doesn't help. *shrug*

Red Bull and a cigarette.
On the days I'm working that is. I'm a night owl by nature and really struggle to function in the mornings. I'm never ready to eat first thing so it's outside for a bracing (I'm in rural Scotland ) cig and a can of Red Bull to kick start me enough to get the kids fed, washed, dressed and organised for school and me ready for work.On the days I don't work I tend to eat around 9:30. Scrambled egg on toast is a favourite. |

I love breakfast, it's my favourite meal I can't leave the house without food in the mornings.
Usually I have an egg done in those microwave cups, 4 black olives, a tomato and 2 slices of Hovis seeded bread toasted, no butter. Oh and a white coffee. At weekends my husband & I usually have eggs coccote or feta with fresh bread and olives, tomatoes - sometimes halloumi in a caper sauce. If it's a nice summery morning we eat outside as we haves lovely sunny yet enclosed yard area.

I've been advised to make my own breakfast called Pukkolla by a lady here at work.
She says she makes this every night before going to bed and leaves it in the fridge overnight - she then adds sliced banana to it and a touch of extra milk. She says once anyone tries this once you wont want anything else for breakfast!

I had cheese on toast this morning bit it depends.
If i'm up early to see the elder children to school i'll do a pan of scrambled eggs, maybe some bacon, but not always. Sometimes I just have toast and a cup of tea. some weekends if we are going out for the day i'll do a grill up |

Bacon butty or fried egg butty at the weekend.
Yoghurt or cereal or porridge on a weekday. Today I was a bit hungover so I had a steak and kidney pie.
