Yeah, I get the nickname. I just wondered whether the cast were told to always call him that, whereas in reality it might be something that Joey and pals only call him from time to time, because of the other James in the show. I doubt that Lauren Pope was really known to everyone as 'Popey' (especially considering that the captions don't call her that now) rather it was a nickname that only a few people called her but she needed to be distinguished from Lauren Goodger in the show.
