What about Chloe and Lauren Pope? Both are 30-ish. There's a lot of women on TOWIE who are in their late 20s. They ought to get rid of some of the boys, who are nothing more than bits of kids before they get rid of Gemma.


They are not the 'in' crowd! She 'hangs' around with them and they 'hang' around with her because they all all under contract to TOWIE! And whether we like it or not, Gemma is one of the main characters in the show.

Yes but both Lauren and Chloe don't get involved with the younger ones' drama and immature antics (with the exception of the Popey/Kirk romance) and tend to hang around with Mick and the older ones, whereas Gemma seems to enjoy being in the centre of the young ones' drama.

You're also forgetting about Lauren Pope and Tom.

Mick?! Maybe they should get rid of him. All he does is hang around with the young blokes in their 20s. Afterall he is pushing 50!

With Mick he seems to have a genuine friendship with Chloe and Lauren P. And when he is hanging out with the younger guys, he has fatherly figure vibe about him, where he can offer advice as he has more life experience, and imo, that makes the scenes with the younger guys enjoyable. He seems like a really nice guy that can offer advice and good company to the girls and the guys. As much as I like Gemma, she can not offer that, she tends to just offer out drama.

I agree. They play different roles. I like both and TOWIE needs both. Although in real life, I think I read somewhere that Mick hadn't been much of a father to Kirk in the past.

But we mustn't forget TOWIE is all set up. Mick became father figure when Kirk left and because he's so much older and if you cross her; Gemma is the mix-it-up bitch from hell. All the younger men are a bit scared of her! I like that. They play their parts well.

Loved last nights ep, the whole thing seems a lot more 'real' so the new producers are doing a great job imo. I know Mark, Amy and Lauren have been gone a while but I still think the current cast are great.

Whenever I see Carol, I always think that she looks a bit like an older version of Sam!

I like what the new production team are doing with the show, it seems so much more real! Even the camera work and the look of the show is different and a massive improvement. It is becoming more like The Hills instead of a soap opera.

I do think the current cast is working well. There aren't really any 'panto' characters (apart from Gemma) I think the days of Amy 'shuuuut uuuup' are gone; for the better.

Definately had a different feel to it, I hope this is a sign of things to come! Gemma used to be one of my favourites but I do think she needs to be gone now, esp with the new more 'real' feel they are going for she is as someone else said way too panto for it.

Amen to that. The show has such a likeable cast. And while I think Arg is a tool of the highest degree, he does add drama, and has an (all be it, annoying) entertainment factor.


Chloe is nice and funny and beautiful, when will she find Mr Right and settle and be happy for ever and ever? I really feel for her, with Chloe, it really seems that what you see, is how she really is, which, in the world of TOWIE isnt always the case.

Agree with the new production team doing right now. I know its only a small thing, but, I like it when the scenes have camera shake. It makes it feel more real, like they are in a club, and a camera crew are there, and it feel less set up in a way.

To be fair if I was her I wouldn't have just forgiven him either. I think it was more the principal of him just strolling in like nothing had happened after how bad he was to her, especially with the dog. That was her baby and he stopped her from seeing it. Can't stand the boy, he thinks he can do whatever and it'll all be fine.

TOWIE has been so much better the past two episodes and imo it's not just down to the production changes but also because Ricki and Jessica aren't there, they got far too much airtime but I might just think that because I cannot stand them or their fake relationship. Arg calling Debbie to talk is just odd, especially with her cold reaction. Her and Carol need to go their scenes are just pointless.

Fair comment. I always loved Kirk until he went into the celebrity big brother house .... JEEZ!! what a complete plonker ... He'd be bugger all without his daddys money .... He left towie because he thought he was going to do a Mark Wright .... In your dreams boy ... it's just never gonna happen ( as time has indeed shown )

I really hope after tonights episode that Lydia can see how rude and arrogant Bobby really is. She always sticks up for him but the way he was shouting at Danielle was vile, good for her for trying to get two words in. Charlie doesn't want him but he cannot understand that lol!!

I really like the production changes to the new series, i've said before how they shouldn't pretend that all the cast don't lead lives where they do photoshoots etc, so I'm pleased that these sorts of things are being included a bit more now. It makes it a bit more 'realistic' (used in the loosest sense of the word!) I have also liked the scenes when they've been out drinking - more background noise and definite drunk scenes have been good improvements!

Character-wise, I find a few of them quite boring now. Really don't care about Arg or Gemma, and find Joey Essex a bit insufferable, especially when he is hanging out with Arg. Charlie is a prize penis-face, you do wonder why some of these are so comfortable being OK to act like complete disrespectful idiots on national television...

Charlie behaved badly. He could have handled the situation much better. But then he doesn't have much experience with women. He probably thought insisting on sex in a relationship made him look a real hetero man!

Mick was clearly with the younger men and Chloe & Lauren to give him something to do.But now Kirk's back we see Mick hanging out with him again.


Surely those dimwits Arg & Joey don't really think Lydia wants Arg back. That must be set-up for our entertainment!

I don't understand Charlie at all, when he first came into it, he was the one who was saying he liked to wait until a relationship was serious to have sex and I really respected him for saying it but last night he was saying practically the complete opposite :S. So what if Danni wants to wait a few weeks after they become a couple to have sex?

So Chloes had an on/off boyfriend for 5 years but in the last few series she's been saying she's single did she only just remember? I do prefer this series but Gemma and Arg need to leave they don't fit anywhere
