I miss the scenes with Cara and Billi, Lydia and whoever, Lauren G, and even mark and Amy! Lets face it TOWIE isn't ever going to get better without these lot.

In the first series I vaguely remember them showing people (maybe Lauren G) watching the show on tv and their reaction to it... I kind of wish they'd try something like that again. Makes it seem at least a teeny bit realistic

Yes, they definitely did - I had forgotten about that. I think it was about the third episode ever and they were watching bits of the first or second episode. Mark made some unflattering personal comment about Lauren G's figure as he sat on the sofa watching the footage. I think they also showed a sober Lauren G watching herself very drunk in a bar when she had a go at Mark, complete with 4 letter expletives! She was very embarrassed to see herself!

I've just watched the first 7 series on Netflix and when i saw the part you just described i thought that would be a regular thing. Bit dissappointed that it isn't.

Wow, that was a marathon viewing - 7 series! You must have been made painfully aware of how it's changed if you watched a few all at once. I agree, though - it somehow made it more real when you saw them watching themselves and I would have liked to see it happen more.

I've recently watched the first 6 series boxset - and it has definitely highlighted how much the show has changed! I know they can't help it if people want to leave - but they could have brought decent replacements in. Georgina, anyone?

1) Did they break the fourth wall yesterday when Joey was showing Sam the picture of the queue outside the shop, you could see the film camera
2) Abi and Jasmine still think too much of themselves and they are getting to much air play, I would rather Cara and Billie came back and that's saying something

Two things got me about that scene - one, how unattractive Ricky is and two, how you could see the cogs going round in his head as he worked out just how and when he could justifiably get out of the relationship

I've watched TOWIE from day one and I really do think Abi and Jazmin are the two most irritating characters ever to grace the show and there have been some serious contenders....Joey Essex, Harry, Debbie were my previous winners

I definitely noticed how it changed. I watched the whole thing in about 2 weeks, lol.
As for breaking the fourth wall, there was one scene where Sam was talking to Billie (i think) about Joey and the whole proposal thing and mentioned the "rumours in the newspapers".
And then there was the scene in i think Lydia's shop where Joey is talking to Ricky(?) and they start fighting. The camera goes crazy trying to keep up with the action as they head outside and you can see crew members reflected in the window.
