Little Boots - Every Night I Say A Prayer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GECfUuqS8yc

What do you think?

I thought the song was okay at first but after a few more listens it does defiantly grow. However the video is a bit average, nothing special but she probably doesn't have the same budget as she did a few years ago. Also the songs takes a lot of inspiration from the 80's and Madonna, especially the prayer, theme and the piano layer in the chorus really reminds me of Vogue.

The video is shockingly bad but the song itself i am really liking on first listen. Hope the album is good, Hands was one of my fav albums of 2009. It is definately a better lead single that New In Town.

She has a good voice but I have always felt as though she lacked that special something.

I remember such a buzz about her in 2008 with the likes of Meddle being played on Radio1 all the time but then Lady Gaga blew up and Little Boots was completely left in the shade!

Obviously, no one has got the reference in the video yet.

I always get that "It could be better" vibe from Little Boots. But not with this.

I'm slightly addicted.

I got it off iTunes last week. It's great! I really hope Little Boots makes another album. Hands was one of my favourite albums of 2009, along with Lady Gaga's The Fame.

Is this her new single? I must go on Youtube on Friday and listen to it, as it will be Little Boots' birthday then!

I wasn't keen at first but its growing on me. The chorus really reminds me of Alphabeat's last album. But I still prefer almost every song from Hands/Illuminations to this one and Shake.

I know I took my time, but I have just listened to this and Headphones, and think I prefer this. However, I was even more impressed by two other Little Boots songs. I shall list these on her Appreciation Thread in a moment!

I kind of like it. Any idea if she has a new album out yet or will soon with this single on it?

In the article below, LB discusses recording for her next album, so hopefully not long now.

I was very fortunate to be at the Later with Jools recording in 2008, which is a very early appearance where she performed Meddle.

Stuck On Repeat again is another killer track.

I was absolutely blown away, however the album left me cold.

Shake was ok, but wasn't that great imo

Check out the original version of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DeAyhH7TMNM

Even better than the album version IMO.

Oh yes, I had that shortly after I saw her.

& yes, it's much much better than the version that ended up on the album.

It seemed like Little Boots was pushed into a more pop territory, as the first couple of tracks Stuck on Repeat & Meddle are far removed from the tracks & versions on the album

I still love her song Perfect Symmetry. Her voice has always reminded me of Emma Bunton though

Isn't that the Phil Oakey collaboration? I think it's just called Symmetry. It was on the album. It's a great song.

That's probably the strongest track on the album, it wasn't a single was it?

Should have been

It's a good song alright, and no it wasn't a single It should have been released instead of Earthquake.

Earthquake was a horrible choice for single, IMO Tune Into My Heart was a better choice.

I really like her album though, and her new stuff has been promising.

I think Ghost would have been a good third single. Will any of her new stuff be on her next album?

I discovered Perfect Symmetry on Youtube whilst looking for her recent songs. In retrospect I would also have preferred it released as a single to Earthquake.
