However, I am surprise at the sudden increase in swearing so far in S2, not offended just surprised that they went from none at all in season 1 to loads in season 2
They cut stuff out too.

FX had a good few gory elements cut out compared to the US version.

Yes, Fox International Channels cut the show primarily for the German market, my guess is FX UK got that version instead of the uncut version given to them for series 1.

Maybe, but the series did get an 18, so maybe not. Not sure whether the screwdriver incident from s2e1 pushed it up from a 15 (it strikes me as very boderline - not much gore, but a lot of blood)

I can think of UK dramas with far worse violence in them.

That could be something to do with it's crap timeslot. Surely they could've pushed a 9/10 PM Sunday slot?

I doubt the general public gives a shit about audio quality (I didn;t notice anything dodgy) and the PQ was annoying (but not enough to make me turn off)

Nope. I know quite a few people waited or are re-watching. It would probably do a bit better (i.e. at least a million) if they'd put it on a reasonable night. Channel 5 should've really paired it with their other Sci-Fi/Fantasy show Once Upon A Time on sundays, with a schedule that perhaps looked like this:

6:30 - 9:00 Family Film
9:00 Once Upon A Time
10:00 The Walking Dead

I think the thing is, that C5 have to keep an hour a night free now for BB. There's not really any way they could have shown both OUAT and TWD on a Sunday night (followed by a horror film) and fit in BB.

Also OUAT and The Walking Dead on the same night is not very good scheduling tbh

I don't recall ever having a bowl of violence for breakfast.

and yet the show gains more and more viewers in the US with each episode.
The finale was watched by 9 million people, a cable tv record, that will probably only ever be beaten , by future episodes of the Walking Dead

Well how's this:

It has already aired on fx over 8 months ago and pulled in massive ratings, being the number 1 show of the week for fx many times....

Lots of people who don't have fx will have already watched it online or torrented it.

Its a massive critically acclaimed show, whether you actually like it, or not.
and it will be around for many more years to come

I think the budget and the character development are what make this such a great television series. The gore that they have been allowed to get away with is astounding. Plus the added fact that you never really know who they are going to kill off next just adds to the drama.
Im gonna get season 1 on dvd. I dont know , but is there censorship in the dvd versions.
I dont want some censored stuff if im paying for it.

Shocker at the end of the episode. What a lowlife creep Shane is.

Why not? it's a more suitable lead in than Extereme Fishing (the most horrifying thing about EF is that people actually watch it for fun...)

Not in the version I own no. The added bonus footage is pretty great about how they create the zombie look and how they created the bike girl scene in the pilot episode which was very cool. I got my copy from ebay though, so I'm not sure if there's a different, censored version (but I doubt it).

The UK/EU versions are censored yes. The American versions are not, you can import this version from Amazon.com (the US store not the UK one)

I'm sure the American version includes a much shorter pilot episode.
