I am trying to find some sweets I used to eat from about 1998-2002 ish.

[From what I can remember]:

They were square, in wrappers, similar to a Fruitella packet.

They were red possibly strawberry, and had tiny pieces of red tangy crystal in each one.

I am scouring Google but can't find them.

I wonder if anyone else knows!

Cheers, Tom.

No I don't think it was popping candy, just tangy pieces of sugar crystal I guess.

Read the post

Multiple sweets in a packet, similar to a Fruitella packet or Starburst packet.

It's just really bugging me, and another Google post led me here.

I remember these but can't place a name on it. Weren't they a bit more chunkier than a fruitlella/chewitt?

Well considering that is a bar and not a chewitt style square sweet in a wrapper I would have to say no

Can I ask were they sour? Did they come in just red? They do ring a bell but just can't quite bring it to the forefront of my mind

Still haven't found it

Not sour in a sense, just a bit tangy, I think they were chunkier than Fruitella.

It was you who reminded me, you said just a bit tangy and it just popped in my head Fruit Tangs, then I realised it was fruitangs

Glad I could help, made me want a pack now though - used to my favourite cinema sweet

I remember them.

I would suggest Maoam Sour as a modern alternative.
