No please not Ronni Ancona.... She was soooooooooooooooooo bad on the Christmas show.

Ruby .... possible. Think she could be funny.... (particularly in the answering back stakes with the judges).

She did sign up for Series 2 but dropped out surely before filming began. She also did the same in Celebrity Big Brother this year.

I think it's been long enough since Celeb Fame Academy so she won't be living under her own shadow now!

not a chance - he is Liverpool Captain, still playing and its the footie season. Add to that he is worth a fortune and couldn't risk injury so I would put my house on him not being in SCD this year.

So far, it looks like the cast could be something like:

Kelly Sotherton
Amy Williams
Fern Britton
Charlie Brooks
Sian Williams
?
?

Michael Vaughan
Matt Lapinskas
Nicky Byrne
Chris Evans
?
?
?

Doesn't mean a lot but a quick look through the archives on Unreality TV shows us that Sid Owen was apparently signed up earlier this year to take part in a "battle of Albert Square" with Charlie Brooks so he is very much a contender.

Also, Davina McCall says she'd take part "if she could build her schedule around it", Emmerdale's RIk Makarem openly asked for an invite and this is a big if, but Lauren Goodger is also interested!

That names so far look very *safe* to me. I expect a few Nancy/Russel/Widdy/Savage types to be thrown in.

Liz Jones??

No offence meant, but the cast shouldn't be full of young nobodies that other young people only want on the show for eye candy.

If anybody from Towie is invited on the show, Strictly is officially dead. People spent most of last year asking what Nancy actually did, but at least she did something worthwhile as a lawyer... unlike people from Towie who have done literally nothing!

Sorry tulisa - just reiterating what others have said I'm all for them getting young celebs to appeal to the youth audience but I draw the line at overhyped talentless nobodies! Lauren and all the TOWIE lot are just famous for being famous - they represent everything that's bad about 'celebrity'. There's plenty of talented young celebs for the producers to choose from so I don't see the need for the likes of Lauren!

I agree with you about TOWIE Damahepa but re Nancy she claimed that she's a lawyer but I think she's known for let's say stretching the truth and exaggerating her 'achievements' ..........she's more known for who she's dated which in my view doesn't make her any better than someone from TOWIE!

Not all of us want young totty! I want a good-looking middle aged man or three to look at! David Beckham would be perfect! Unrealistic though!

What she's done and what she's more known for are two separate things, admittedly for the latter it's a bit strained as a link to fame, but at least she's done something with her life behind the limelight!

It's according to her that she's done those things....her word doesn't seem very reliable .........her rich ex husband apparently set her up in 'law' anyway the one who she was with before erm being 'introduced' to Sven

I don't mind someone from TOWIE taking part. I don't think it matters how high profile a celeb is or what they have done in the past. I tend to forget that they are celebs anyway after a while and just see them a normal people trying to learn how to dance in a very public arena. If a celeb is good natured and willing to learn I don't mind what background they have.

A well balanced cast of celebs is important to appeal to all of us viewers

Except the TOWIE lot aren't 'celebs' - though probably in their own heads they think they are! What exactly are they being 'celebrated' for being orange, having loads of cosmetic surgery and selling their souls to the devil by getting their names in the tabloids/gossip rags! Call me old fashioned but I thought you at had to at least have to done something worthwhile and have some talent to call yourself a 'celebrity'!
