I am trying to change the sort option to "time" on my video files, following instructions in user manual but doesnt change from "alphabetic". I want latest recordings to appear at the top, is this possible?

Only recordings not in folders respond to sort by time. A folder can contain lots of different recordings so sort by time is pretty meaningless.

Thanks Graham, yes you are right, most if not all of my recordings use series link so are in folders & most of the time there is only ever one file because recordings get watched & deleted before the next episode is recorded, but as you say there could be many files in a folder all recorded at very different times.

But it's not an unreasonable thought, and surely possible to program (are you listening, Humax?).

All it needs to do is date the folder according to the newest recording in it.

My Mac does that, and I imagine that Windows does too.

Good point there, come on Humax, it cant be that difficult to stop me having to hunt through pages of folders for the new recording.
