It's so hard to pick just one. Snow Patrol, Keane, Damien Rice, Scissor Sisters, Razorlight... all had excellent songs out.

At a push I'd go for:

Keane - Bedshaped

Graham Coxon - 'Freakin' Out'.

Other good ones include 'The world is full of crashing bores' by Morrissey, 'Song for a departure' by the Manics and 'Empty Cans' by the Streets.

Still, sticking to the mainly 'mainstream' theme, i'll say Run-Snow Patrol.

And anything by Keane, Scissor Sisters and The Streets should be quickly consigned to the bargain bin, and their careers disposed of, Barrymore-style.

Sector7seven's Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling
Talib Kweli - Around my Way/Black Girl Pain
Jin - Love Story

Rather large thumbs up in your direction.

Actually, although they are OK, screw Snow Patrol. Don't Ever Think (too much) - The Zutons, is one of the best i've heard this year.
