Toffees
I have been craving toffees of late. But I only like the hard toffees, Penny toffees from the Quality Street tin being my favourites. Unfortunately these can't be bought seperately so i'd like a good alternative please.
I only like hard toffees the type that takes a filling out and not fudge like. Any suggestions please

I adore hard toffees too. If im bought a box of choccies those are the ones that go first.
The only thing I can think of is the bags of chocolate eclairs. The hard toffee with a little choccie in the middle. |

For plain toffee, Walkers Nonsuch toffees or Thorntons plain.
Lately I've become seriously addicted to Dominion Chocotoffees, which come from either Aldi or Lidl - can't remember which. Anyway, it's a big white plastic bag with beige stripes. Dark chocolate covered toffees. Beautiful sweets. |

I used to love toffee. Up until a couple of months ago.
My mum used to make it when I was a kid. Was awesome. But I'd never really eaten it since then, and then earlier this year my better half bought me a packet of Thornton's toffee. Oh. My. God. Was just too delicious. And I mean that literally. I had cravings for it for weeks. So she bought me about £20 quids worth for a Valentine's gift. I've never been so happy. So I ate it all. In about a week. Now I never ever want to see or smell a toffee again. So, yeah, I'd recommend Thornton's toffee (various sorts). But don't be tempted to O.D like I did. I feel sick just writing this. I've destroyed something that was beautiful and special with my gluttony. That is why it is a sin. |

Remember Toffifee? There was a nut in them, I think. We used to have them at Christmas in the 80's/90's.
