ABC to debut new 'Big Brother'-like 'Glass House' competition June 18

ABC has announced it will premiere The Glass House, a new Big Brother-like reality show that will feature contestants living together and competing for a $250,000 prize in a game controlled by viewers, on Monday, June 18 at 10PM ET/PT.

The Glass House will feature 14 contestants living in a same state-of-the-art house where they will not only play against each other but also compete to win over home viewers each week. Viewers will be encouraged to support and follow the contestants both online and through social media, ultimately casting their votes to help determine who will be sent home and who will return to "The Glass House" and remain in the game.

CBS accuses ABC of ripping off 'Big Brother'

Not surprisingly, CBS isn’t taking too kindly to a plan by ABC to launch its own Big Brother-like show called Glass House. Today, the Eye via the Los Angeles legal firm of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher fired off a letter warning that ABC “will be acting at their own peril if they continue to proceed.”

I like it when there is more competition, it improves things. I don't really think people should get a monopoly for something forever, particularly in something which is open to creativity like entertainment show formats.

I agree! It may make BB stand up and take notice and maybe make some changes for the better.

They're smart starting a month before BB. I will definitely be checking it out!

There are tonnes of 'living in a house' type shows around the world as well as 'living on a desert island' type show. I don't know why CBS think theirs is so unique.

Glass House sound more like Secret Story.

How long will the series last? It says there will only be 10 episodes. That doesn't give much time to do a lot.

I hope the case does get thrown out. I'm not sure I'll like it though...it sounds nothing like big brother. It sounded appealing at first but I'm not sure about it being team orientated. I thought those kinds of reality shows bombed in America because Americans like to see people competing against each other instead of voting for their favourite to win.
