Country with the hottest food
What country/region do you think has the hottest everyday cuisine?
A few contenders: Thialand/South East Asia Indian regions where the ghost/naga chilli is prominent South Africa with the piri piri Central Africa Carribean/West Indies with the Scotch Bonnet Mexico and Central/South America Two that I would nominate are South Korea and Sichuan Province in China. Both are known for their love of heat. |

There's a programme about Sri Lankan food on the Good food channel ATM and the guy actually says after he's added copious amounts of black pepper etc "if in doubt do it the Sri Lankan way and add more chillies"!![]() Beautiful food tho' - as a veggie it's so inspiring. |

Either Sri Lankan or Thai. I love Thai food but it destroys me for two days, normally.

My guess would be south/southeast Asia. And, actually, I don't think Mexican food is necessarily all that hot-- unless you count some of the different sauces that are used as condiments.

The USA probably has the hottest challenge dishes, but I would say Thai or Sri Lankan for the hottest in general.
