Skylar with a stronger accent than usual, ending the show on a high as she walks the stage. One thing re her is that any stage she's on she'll own it.

I think Skylar is the one I'd be okay with going home, since my preferred choice seems to be the immoveable object.

She really impressed me recently, but hasn't quite caught my attention as much as Jessica, Joshua or Hollie.

Next week's results is going to be rather bad I fear.

I am slightly gutted for Skylar but I didn't think Hollie deserved to go either. My money was on Philip actually but he seems to have the girls vote, Hollie must have the expat vote, Jessica has the Latin American vote and I guess everybody votes for Joshua.

I think Skylar will have a good career as she has a great personality and that can sometimes get you further than a good voice.

Rather sorry to see Skylar go, would have preferred to see the back of Jessica. I can't stand Jessica as she has no personality at all and no warmth, she might have a good voice but you need a lot more than a good voice to be successful.

Most of the CDs I buy I have not got a clue what there like as people. I listen to people sing with great voices. I think Jessica will finish runner up to Joshua.

at the start of the series i thought phillip was great , was something different about him and hoped he would do well

he has looked just so one dimensional as the series has gone on tho and if he can survive after those two poor performances last night then it looks fairly obvious people are voting for him almost regardless of how he sings

there were points during that second song where it was actually painful listening to him screech the high notes

I agree - he looks as though he's in pain too which doesn't help. However, for me it's Hollie who's hanging on by the skin of her teeth.

Joshua and Jessica are the best singers in the competition IMO. I wasn't sure who to support after Elise got booted off but both Joshua and Jessica are pretty amazing given their ages. How much better are they going to be in a few years time?

Oh come on... Joshua doesn't sing that is the point. If he did then i may have a different opinion about him but the fact is he just shouts and screeches and there are so many people in the world who can do that. Also Karaoke around the world is just like how he "sings".

Jessica does sing some of the time but she cannot do up tempo songs as she turns into Joshua and just shouts/screeches and also sounds very strained like she is struggling and even the "You are so beautiful" song was no way near as good as other people have sung it on other shows.

I partly agree with Phillip but to be honest i am so fed up with those judges wanting the final two to be Joshua and Jessica i really want him to Win (well i would rather Hollie won but i don't think it is going to happen as they have been trying to get rid of her for weeks now).

And i hate it when on these shows age is brought up with certain contestants. Why have an age range of 16-28 if you are then going be "oh wow you are 16 oh my God!!" but then to someone who is 28 there is no "oh wow you are 28!" It should not matter how old the contestant is and when the "only 16" is used to get sympathy votes it makes it so much worse.

I finally got to see the show (I tape to Sky box to zip through the ad breaks)

For me the weakest of the night was Phillip (duet with Joshua) plus wasn't impressed with his individual numbers, and Skylar on her second song which didn't seem to suit her voice at all.

I expect Hollie to be out next week. She'll have to bring a wow performance and one of the others to underwhelm to survive I think.

I don't see it like that - I think the judges are over-awed by the maturity of Jessica's voice as the voice matures in its own time rather than through hard work.

A shame for me that Skylar went out last night - not because she's my favourite but because if Hollie had gone, it would have left my perfect top four. Even though Hollie had a good week, she still does nothing for me and I don't understand why she didn't go weeks ago when she was even worse.

Like others on this board I'm bored with Phillip - I do like him, but he's not trying to win this contest, he wants to be seen as a credible artist and not seen to be jumping though hoops to please the mainstream. I don't find him cocky or smug, and I actually think he woud be happy to go rather than to win because he is the most fanciable remaining male.

Joshua is way ahead of the pack every week now but I still can't see him winning.

Personality is important to country singers when they do concerts etc you want them to really get into their songs like Skylars goodbye song

Phillip - I would have preferred him to leave, but he has not (yet?) been in the bottom 3/2, so must have a good fanbase. He may be better singing his own songs?

Joshua - can be good, can be OTT, like Fantasia was.

Skylar - lost this week partly because her second song was poor. Is very good at up-tempo country songs.

Hollie - due to leave next week, unless she is lucky with her songs and someone else is unlucky. Being originally from Liverpool is probably counted against her by the American voters (assuming they realise that she is from Liverpool, England!)

Jessica - at times shows how immature she is, but can sing well.

Am I excited about who wins? Not this year I'm afraid. Do I agree with the judges that this week had the best five ever? No!

Agree about Hollie. Like with the age thing and them spouting to Jessica every 2 minutes "you're only 16 wow!" there really should be no issue with where Hollie is originally from.

I don't completely agree about Phillip. He is the only one left to never be in bottom three or two. I am hoping (if Hollie goes next) that he makes it to the final and wins.

No way should Jessica and Joshua have made it this far and i find it strange how Jessica goes from having the least votes on top 7 to not being in the bottom three ever since. Similar thing with Joshua, although he has not had the least votes but magically never been back to bottom three since top 7 night. Now at least one of those would logically have been in the bottom three since then (Jessica more Joshua) yet they haven't been. I find it difficult to believe they suddenly got so much support so something strange is going on, probably vote fixing to keep the judges favourites in.

Maybe Hollie could pick up some of Skylar's votes. They were clearly BFFs and have the same sweet girl next door personality.
Although I wouldn't class their musical styles as being that similar.


I sense Phillip is getting a bit restless because he doesn't know people's true motives for keeping him in.
He was asked if mentioning his girlfriend on this week's show could do damage to his votes, which probably annoyed him a great deal.

Obviously the fact that Vote For The Worst are backing Phillip shows that a Phillip victory will undermine and harm the show more than any other result, so I am hoping we get something different as I would quite like the show to continue on.
Phillip will likely be happier not being the winner, and won't be a flop like many people will be predicting if/when he wins.

Well, I would agree that I'm not keen on the Jackie Wilson style screetching that he indulges himself with sometimes, but he has got a beautiful tone to his normal singing voice. Would like to hear him sing a soft song all the way through without the indulgent scream fest that he seems to do at the end of every song.


I think she's improved over the weeks and has a phenomenal voice. She will be massive after AI IMO whether she wins or not



I'm not really fussed one way or another about Phillip.

Age is an issue as experience tends to make people better.

Just caught up with the shows. Thought for sure it would be Philip going home, while I am not a fan of Skylar, I thought she performed much better than Philip. My favourite was Joshua, followed closely by Hollie. I really think she pulled it out of the bag this week, and stepped up her performance.

Totally agree with all of the above! Joshua FTW otherwise we've definitely entered the Matrix.

I was quite sad to see Skylar go, she's grown on me the last few weeks, and she really know's how to own the stage and put on a good performance, I think she'll do well.

As much as I liked Phillip to begin I'm getting bored of him now, to me he just doesn't look as if he wants to be there at all, and when Hollie's name was announced for the bottom 2, he looked to me disapointed!

Also, Jimmy has seemed to indicate a couple of times now about him being ill, or have I missed something?

Glad Hollie stayed just to put 2 fingers up at the judges, really thought they had given her a hard time over the last few weeks, and I'm wondering if they have been told to lay off her a bit.

Stopping watching now, a country fan so with Skylar going thats the last of the country singers so turning off till next season.

This season I havent been watching at all. A total latecomer in the game in that I watched it for the first time this year this week! I havent seen any of these lot sing at all prior and had no pre conceived about anyone as a result.

I was totally blown away by Joshua's To Love Somebody (a song I actually don't like at all but his version is beautiful). There is so much passion in his voice. We've all heard amazing singers in these shows over the years but coupled with the intensity and passon is what moves me when he sings. I can see he is probably like marmite for some but for me, he is amazing. From comments I have read though I don't think he will win.

Jessica is also the other stand out but the rest, while good, didn't really stand out for me.

Phillip had kidney problems earlier in the live shows, and had to have surgery I think.

Agreed with Hollie. Her performances have been just as good as when they were slating her, yet now they praise her?

I agree - Think America is realising that they are the best and it should be a J J final.

The reason Joshua and Jessica have made it this far is because they are the best singers. Thank god for the save or we could of had a travesty. America have woke up now and are voting for the talented singers which is Joshua and Jessica. I predict Philip will be off this week then Hollie next week. Leaving a television feast of mouth watering talent for the final.
