Problem with my Sony DVD player

My DVP-NS300 (age abourt 5yrs) is starting to play up. It is begining to stop for about 1 second and either continue playing skip back to the start of the DVD. This seems of started to happen this year. BTW the DVD plays ok on my PC.
Is it time to replace my DVD player? or can I can get away with a lens cleaner, (if the latter where can I get a cleaner from?)

considering that even at the pricier places you could pick up the basic sony model for about £80 now,it really is crazy to not replace when yours is that old,and the players themselves have changed so much in that time.
